#87: This week we are joined by Stacey Levin (she/her), a dual Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and Certified Community Health Worker. Stacey manages the statewide mobile harm reduction outreach team at Parent Support Network of Rhode Island. In her work as a peer and community health worker, her job is not to get folks to an ultimate destination. Rather, she reminds us that recovery can be defined very differently from person to person... and there are as many ways to be in recovery as there are people in it. Check out the episode to hear more of our conversation with Stacey, including:

  • The importance of a community aspect to modern-day harm reduction.
  • Stacey's everyday goal: to develop connections with folks so they feel seen, respected, and loved just because they are a person.
  • The nuances of her experience in a 12 step program, and learning to operate within that.
  • How Stacey pours into herself to maintain the capacity to show up for others on a deeper level.
  • The journey that brought her to where she is now, and why she has dedicated her life to working with and helping others.
