Season 3 of the smash hit FX/Hulu show “The Bear” roared to life just days ago, but Will Poulter (the actor who plays fan-favorite Luca) and 2014 F&W Best New Chef Dave Beran had been prepping for weeks. Poulter — like his co-star Jeremy Allen White — staged with Beran at his Santa Monica restaurant Pasjoli to learn how to accurately portray a professional chef onscreen. The lessons went so well, Beran says he’d hire Poulter as a cook — even despite a messy mishap with a pastry bag. The two dished all about getting kitchen culture right on and offscreen, what it takes to be at the top of your craft, and the pure magic of a great restaurant service. ×Send us a text As millennials that have experienced one setback after another , many of us may feel a little disheartened as we fail to achieve some of the exciting life milestones that we thought we'd have by now. With housing costs and the cost of living in general becoming more and more out of reach, we may never achieve the same American Dream that we were sold. But maybe our legacy isn't about success as we were raised to understand it! Maybe our legacy is making sure that the destructive patterns that were passed down to us from generations before don't get passed down to generations after us. That's the topic of this week's episode of The Millennial Reset - what it means to break the cycle and raise the next generation based on a framework that stems from self-expression, self-worth, and what's true today, instead of what we've been conditioned for in the past. We're joined once again by licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Abena Berry, as we break down three important concepts: Understanding how trauma gets passed down from one generation to another, oftentimes completely unconsciously. Self-help techniques to begin uncovering some of the conditioning and subconscious programming that may have gone unnoticed until now. How to make sure that toxic generational patterns don't get passed down to our children by effective modeling. You can follow Dr. Berry on TikTok and check out her new book on Amazon . Send us a text When you change, everything and everyone else around you changes, too. This includes your relationships with family, friends, work, and YOURSELF! In this week's episode of The Millennial Reset , we're joined again by one of our millennial mental health besties, Lindsey Lopez , to have the real conversations around our changing relationships as we grow into our 30s. This includes: The relationships with our parents. Depending on your relationship thus far, this might look like setting stronger boundaries or learning how to let go of resentment and forgive our parents for not knowing any better. The relationships with our friends. As we grow out of our 20s, where many of us were conditioned to compare ourselves to others and have larger friend groups, you may begin to crave deeper connections with fewer people. This shift is one of quality over quantity. The relationship with work. After having spent so many years focused on climbing the corporate ladder, this may look different. Either we've seen the benefits of this, and decide that the effort is worth the reward. Or, we might start climbing back down that corporate ladder so that we can finally focus on our own dreams and goals and build a stronger identity outside of a job title. The relationship with ourselves. Nothing changes until you change. That change can feel extremely uncomfortable since it goes against everything you were taught and learned so far. As we continue to take the scary steps to get back in touch with our authentic self, one of the most important parts of this healing journey is how we treat ourselves. Join us, as we have the conversation out loud that so many tired millennials are having to themselves. Looking for that next level of support in your healing journey? 1 The Millennial Reset Moment | Confronting the Identity Crisis that Comes with Shifting Your Life Path 21:16
Send us a text This week's episode of The Millennial Reset is dedicated to all of my millennial besties that are ready to face their fears , and finally do whatever it takes to not only overcome burnout , but to give yourself permission to do things differently ! It's for those that are either just getting started with their "reset" moment, or in the trenches of doing the inner work as we speak. I share my 3 big tips for what to anticipate and how to navigate the murky waters of changing your life from the inside OUT: Rest. And then rest more. The complete and utter exhaustion that comes with burnout recovery is actually expected (and not a bad thing). It means that your body is finally entering into parasympathetic healing mode, where your immune system and physiological processes begin to return to homeostatis, which takes time! Rather than getting caught up in your thoughts that tell you that you're lazy or too unproductive, just allow yourself to rest without guilt and shame! Start with Intentions (instead of goals). Goals tend to create more added pressure that can cause us to slip back into fight or flight. When we start with intentions, or how you want to FEEL, we can begin to make decisions based on emotions instead of thoughts. You can always start with the goal, but then ask yourself "why" five times to start getting down to the root emotion. Gift Yourself with Emotional Experiences. Once you identify your desired emotion, it's up to you to start giving your brain the experiences to realize that emotion time and time again. When you create your desired emotion internally, this has a profound impact on the resulting thoughts and actions. Rather than trying to change our THOUGHTS, which requires incredible self-discipline, we can simply give ourselves experiences that make us feel the way we want to feel, so that our brain becomes more and more wired for that feeling and the associated mindset. If you're looking for that added extra level of support, check out my 30-day Millennial Mindset Makeover Challenge ! Send us a text What do you want to be when you grow up? What are your passions, dreams, and goals? If just the thought of these questions gives you anxiety, then you're not alone. When I realized that I had gone from burnout to complete identity crisis, I had NO clue what was next for me in life. And while I'm still a work in progress myself, the best thing I ever did for myself is to give myself permission to explore the other options that didn't even exist 20 years ago when I decided on my career path in the first place! This is the topic this week on The Millennial Reset, with Kali Wolken (therapist turned career coach for millennials). We discuss: 😨 The fears and narratives that keep us stuck in our comfort zones, including the narrative that tells us it's too late and too expensive to change directions. 🗺️ Low-risk ways to explore new and old passions that could lead to new or alternative career paths. 🔑 Tips for how to start small, without quitting your job or diving in head first. Join us, as we learn to redefine what the future may hold for us and reframe our identities around work and careers. The Millennial Reset

Send us a text What's the last thing you did for YOU, and nobody else? If your response to that question is filled with crickets, then this week's episode of The Millennial Reset is meant for you. I'm sharing my three big (and simple) tips for how to start taking better care of yourself, even when your mind talks you out of it. The 3 tips for putting yourself first: Understand the concept of source vs. resource . In other words, becoming fully aware of the age-old adage of "put your mask on first before assisting others". Shift the internal narratives around "rest". Most of us were told growing up that "rest is lazy", which created the conditioning that keeps us all addicted to stress. So, we talk about how to shift the narrative from "rest is lazy" to "rest is productive" and giving yourself opportunities to prove that this is true to your brain that is always trying to seek out evidence of what you tell it. Talk to yourself like you'd talk to your best friend. The way that we speak to ourselves (whether out loud or in our own head) has a drastic impact on how our brain becomes wired over time. When you start speaking to yourself with more compassion and grace, you begin creating a sense of safety for your nervous system from the inside out! Check out the full episode and start creating new habits and routines that work for YOU! Send us a text In this week's episode of The Millennial Reset , we're joined by licensed clinical psychologist, and mental health contributor to Good Morning America, Dr. Abena Berry, to learn what the heck it even really means to "find yourself" after decades of conditioning and "masking up" to fit with societal expectations. Millennials have always dreamed of a life with more purpose and creativity, but that's a real challenge when we've spent so many years of our adult lives walking around pretending to be an imposter of what we were taught about success and happiness. Dr. Berry provides us with a few valuable tips to guide us millennials through this healing journey of getting back to your authentic self : Learning never stops. Learning about yourself is an ongoing journey. We struggle, we grow, we learn, and we CHANGE. New learning and insights come with embracing the learning in times of change. You are not your conditioning. Psychology has already shown us that we are NOT born as blank slates, but that is how we are raised by default. Our parents and society "program" us based on what they think will help us, but in reality, it keeps us living in a confined box, rather than living our lives true to US. YOU are the new parent. We can live our lives waiting on someone else, such as our parents, to change, or we can assume the responsibility of becoming the new parent to your brain that you always needed. Do a values inventory, check-in with your beliefs, and start being kinder to yourself! Reparent yourself for the way you want your brain to be wired, instead of the way it got wired by others. Bottom line, there's nothing to "find" when it comes to your authentic self. It's in you and always been in you, but you just have to uncover it first. That's where the true inner work happens! Send us a text What do you miss most about the 90's? Is it the Saturday morning cartoons? Is it the throwback songs/movies/TV shows? Or maybe is it something deeper than that, like the feeling of when things were simpler? We might not be able to transport ourselves back to 1998, but I do think there's things we can be doing to foster the desired EMOTIONS that we feel like we've lost over the years of one unprecedented historical event after another! That's what we're talking about this week on The Millennial Reset ...how can we get back some semblance of the normalcy that we all seem to associate to the 90s/2000s. Join me as we take a trip down nostalgia lane, and I share my three mindset-based tips for how we can begin to create more simplicity, calm, and connection in our modern-day crazy lives: Creating opportunities to move out of self-isolation and fostering more authentic connections . Send us a text How would your life would be different if you didn't have a mortgage/rent? How much less anxiety and stress would you have? For all of the millennials that have that dream in the back of their mind to move to the woods in a tiny house where you grow your own food and don't have to worry as much about making ends meet, this week's episode is for YOU! My guest, Desiree ( @pintsizedlife ), joins us to share her journey of making the shift from living and working full-time in the city, to building a tiny home with her partner on 5 acres with her own garden and slower pace of life . We talk about how her life has changed since adopting the tiny home lifestyle , with more freedom, flexibility, and peace. More importantly, we talk realistically about what doesn't change! Even though adopting a more self-sustaining way of life gives you more peace of mind, there's still the societal pressures and daily stressors that can't be escaped . Even if the physical reality of slower-paced living isn't in the cards for you, I hope this inspires you to start implementing more of what brings you peace, calm, and joy mentally! Send us a text In this episode of The Millennial Reset, my guest Beth shares her inspiring story of truly stepping in to her passion for making music that makes a difference! Like so many of us, Beth experienced her fair share of rejection along the way in her corporate career path, leading her to base her level of worth on the job title. But a series of events created a drive in Beth to pursue the thing she had talked herself out of for so long, because we so often talk ourselves out of our passions in place of safety and comfort. So instead of making excuses for all the reasons she shouldn't do the things she loves the most, Beth listened to her intuition instead. Beth now creates her own music, inspired by her journey of rising up from the ashes and stepping into her most authentic identity, and opening yourself up to the limitless potential that lives in all of us. 1 From Fear of Failure to Fulfillment: Pursuing the Passions of Your Inner Child with Deanna Garrett 29:23
Send us a text In this episode of The Millennial Reset, my guest Deanna shares her story of pursuing her childhood dream of becoming a figure skater in her 30s. After watching an anime about a figure skater, Deanna was reminded of a childhood dream to become a figure skater, which was not a possibility in the small town that she grew up in. But Deanna's story is a perfect example that it's NEVER too late! She decided to move beyond the fear of failure and judgment, and the need to be a perfectionist (sound familiar?) in order to say "F it all, I'm going for it". She is now a US National Figure Skater that has found a new sense of balance between her corporate job and her passion for skating. Send us a text In this week's episode of The Millennial Reset, my guest Clare shares her story of taking control of her own burnout recovery journey. After years of seeing therapists, medical professionals, and walking away with prescriptions for stress, anxiety, and sleep apnea, Clare took it upon herself to start getting at the REAL root of burnout, rather than the symptoms that so many medical professionals are eager to diagnose and prescribe. Clare is now sharing the knowledge gained from her self-empowered journey to reverse burnout, like the importance of recognizing the hormonal imbalances caused by increased technology use and overcoming the default mindset that keeps us stuck in habit loops that are causing our brains and bodies harm. Send us a text In this episode of The Millennial Reset, my guest Jessica shares her journey of growing up as a millennial and watching all of the spiritual "gurus" that led her on a path of trying to find her purpose. After years of seeking answers from psychics and even ayahuasca retreats, Jessica had a different type of awakening. A wake up call that her purpose wasn't something that she had to go in search of, but rather that purpose can come from everyday experiences of becoming OF purpose to others through your authentic being. Jessica's story is sure to resonate with those millennials who were programmed to believe that it was our life mission to "find your purpose" and that it's perfectly ok to define your purpose and identity in whatever way makes you feel fulfilled and content each and every day. Send us a text In this episode of The Millennial Reset, my guest Kristina shares her story of how climbing the corporate ladder resulted in a loss of her authenticity. Send us a text In this inspiring episode of The Millennial Reset, my guest Luisa shares her story of the moment that she knew a change was necessary, and leaving behind her successful corporate recruiter lifestyle in New York to move to an eco-friendly farm in Honduras. Luisa discusses how the feelings of discontentment continued to grow as she climbed the corporate ladder of the corporate world, and then one day, she decided that she was ready to make the leap. Luisa now spends her days living a much slower-paced life in coastal Honduras, while also freelancing on the side. She runs an eco-bnb in beautiful Honduras, where she provides the space and quietness for others to go and disconnect to get back in touch with your authentic identity. The beliefs that so many millennials hold that our level of worth comes from our level of productivity is simply a belief, instilled in us based on our childhood and growing up. Luisa's story is the perfect example of what other possibilities exist when we decide to do the inner work of deconditioning from the limiting, sabotaging beliefs that keep so many of us stuck in the rat race.
