The big news today is the death of Pope Francis. If the media came out and told us that the Pope had returned from the dead, how many people would actually believe it? The Joe Biden people released one of the most lazy and low tier Photoshop efforts since your own humble host attempted to make his own memes back in the day. Seriously, these people have plenty of money and yet they can’t actually hire someone capable of doing a halfway convincing job? Maybe this is a result of the USAID cuts. In another example of lazy scriptwriting, a literal who with a nose ring has come out and claimed that Jesus was in the MS13 gang or something. Why are we supposed to care about this? Does this actually merit being international news? Do we need to quit allowing people to work from home? In the latest installment of the illegal migrant drama, some buses drove to the airport and then turned back around. In the past, one of the reasons we were all told it was important to keep going along with the voting ritual was the matter of who would be placed on the Supreme Court. The news is flooded with various opinions in regards to Trump’s tariff policies, especially when it comes to China. Under normal circumstances the country with the trade deficit will benefit from imposing tariffs, while the country with the trade surplus will not. However this is assuming that the country with the trade deficit has a substantial manufacturing capacity. According to the narrative , the reason that American automakers are struggling is because they have been too slow to give the people what they want: namely EVs. Cadillac is axing one of its cookie cutter SUV models supposedly because it “only” get’s 21mpg in the city. He was charged with “crimes against humanity” relating to his victory in the Philippine drug war, and since the ICC isn't a court in any normal sense of the term, he's unlikely to come out of this alive. While people will tell you that they treasure the idea of having free will, the reality is many long to surrender it. Free will brings with it responsibility and many people would rather not shoulder that responsibility but instead prefer to give it to someone else, incorrectly believing that this will absolve them of responsibility for their decisions. While every Christian interprets this as “the way to reach God/the Kingdom of Heaven” we can also view this as Jesus literally showing us the way in which we should strive to live. The big news today is the stock market line going down. The media is predictably going into hysterics over this but how catastrophic is this exactly? It is amazing that people have on a certain level been sold the idea that the stock market line can go up indefinitely when this notion is obviously absurd. Another curious if not surprising aspect of all of this is the fact that now the left loves billionairs . I suppose this is what happens when “eat the rich” collides with “orange man bad”. With the line going down being the lead story all over the world, stories that actually have more importance wind up buried on the back page. The science is on the brink of a new breakthrough on the front of sterilization. Isn’t it funny that on the one hand they tell us that demographic decline is a problem so we must import infinity migrants but then on the other, they spend huge amounts of money in order to further sterilize the existing population. This was a unique event in history, since it was a large empire in peacetime which suddenly and rapidly imploded with no obvious external force. From then on, Dr. Johnson has been preoccupied with Russia, the USSR and the Orthodox royal heritage of the eastern Slavs. More to the point, the question is how and why did this bizarre set of events occur in the way it did? Why did no one predict it? Part I deals with the USSR from the death of Stalin to the removal of Khrushchev, while Part II will bring the discussion to Gorbachev and Yeltsin. Don’t get it twisted: It’s not that there is anything wrong with the free market, it’s that the free market doesn’t even exist. Whether we are talking about conservatives who believe that if the government would just get out of the way, the free market would take over and somehow the invisible hand would cause the corporations to lower prices or the leftist who believes that any day now, the government is going to crack down on the corporations and start looking after the people. These viewpoints are so far detached from reality that they are in the realm of complete fantasy. In the Christian specific segment this week, the discussion will center around “Making every effort to enter through the strait (narrow) gate”.
