Chief Red Hawk also serves on the Virginia Indian Advisory Board (VIAB) and the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Board (BCR). He is a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel. He is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the American Legion and Disable Veterans (DAV). Chief Brown also served on the Executive Board for the STOP Program of the Western Tidewater Senior Services Program.
