Episode 398: Randall Woodfield, The I-5 Killer

Between October of 1980 and February of 1981, a perpetrator known as the I-5 Bandit or the I-5 Killer terrorized Oregon, Washington, and California, raping and murdering women and girls in a frenzied spree of violence. The culprit was apprehended in March of 1981 and turned out to be a man by the name of Randall Woodfield, a former football player from an upper-middle-class family who was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1974 (but never played for them professionally). Though Woodfield was ultimately convicted of only one murder, he is suspected to have committed between 25 and 44, and he is currently serving a life sentence plus 165 years.
