Scott Carter is joined by nationally syndicated conservative radio host Erick Erickson to set their political differences aside and talk about tests of faith, the usefulness of rituals in the passages and celebrations of life, plus the “welfare of your community” and service to its members.

In My Homily Opinion (IMHO): For this Memorial Day weekend, Scott remembers those who serve in our military forces and veterans living or dead, including his father Captain John Henry Carter, who spent four and a half years in the US Navy in the Pacific during World War II.

Guest: Erick Erickson is host of the nationally syndicated Erick Erickson Show from Atlanta. In 2015, The Atlantic named Erick Erickson the most influential conservative in the United States. He writes a daily email read by numerous members of Congress, governors, and policy makers across the nation. Erickson practiced law for six years; served as a campaign consultant for federal, state, and local races; ran RedState.com for a decade turning it into the most widely read center-right blog on Capitol Hill; ran for office and served as a city councilman; and served as a political contributor for both CNN and Fox. Erickson makes regular appearances on various CNN and Fox News programs, NBC’s Meet the Press, and HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher. He is also a nationally syndicated columnist. Erick Erickson is a native of Louisiana, grew up in the United Arab Emirates, and currently lives in Macon, GA with his wife and children. He is a graduate of Mercer University and its Walter F. George School of Law. He is presently attending Reformed Theological Seminary working on a masters in theology.
