Where do you choose to sit?

We can be so hungry for a position in life that we become obsessed with having it.

“I wish I was doing what she’s doing.”
“I’d be great at that job. He should pick me.”
“That’s so not fair; I’m more qualified than...”

Others, with sound intentions, can also place thoughts in our heads.

“You deserve to sit at the head table...”
“Think of all you could do if...”

Yet, no matter “our” agenda, God sets our steps.

• His way should be our beacon.
• His will should be our desire.
• His timing is what we should seek.

And humility is the key.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,” 1 Peter5:6ESV

Acting on our own, we struggle to live out God’s best. Yet, when God lifts us to a position, His provision and timing are excellent.

Let’s journey together.

O Lord, Help me remember that Your Way is my way.
Help me to humble myself before You, knowing at the right time, You will make my path clear.
Cause my heart to beat in alignment with Your desire for me.
Praise be to You, Holy One of Israel. Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22
