Summary:
Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim were cities of the plain the Lord overthrew with fire and brimstone. The cry of their grievous sins reached heaven, and the wrath of God was poured out upon them, sparing only righteous Lot and his daughters. What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah? Was it simply God’s punishment for a sexual sin, or was it more than that? Today, we investigate the mysteries of Sodom and Gomorrah.

from an unused root meaning to scorch; burnt (i.e. volcanic or bituminous) district; Cedom, a place near the Dead Sea:—Sodom

Takeaway:
There is more to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah than meets the eye. We can try to limit God’s Word and interpret it as something more straightforward to comprehend, but to do so is to ignore the spiritual reality we face. The “inconvenient truth” is that man has a history of sexually interacting with fallen angels, reaching a breaking point, and God pouring out His wrath for violation of His command against it. Since we choose to ignore history, we are often doomed to repeat it. There is a particular reason God’s wrath is about to fall again, and history tells us why!
