Episode 4: #Me Too Movement and Recovery
Manage episode 443384705 series 3605430
· My morning begins by expressing gratitude using my mind, heart, body and spirit for the blessings, love, and guidance given to me by my Heavenly Father and our Savior.
· The apostle Paul, the warrior for Jesus Christ wrote to the Romans about the detrimental effects of sexual immorality. In Romans 8:28 he reminds us that even though we might be persecuted, experience tribulation, famine, or peril, All things work together for good to them who love God. We are conquerors when we follow our Savior’s example as His grace attends to us.
· The Me-Too Movement, primarily women joining together to express their concerns about sexual violence occurs throughout the world. Victims may be male or female, and cross cultural and social boundaries. It may involve generational violence as evidenced by the suffering of black women during slavery.
· My story includes generational abandonment on my maternal side leaving me unprotected from an abusive pediatrician. Van der Kolk’s evidence is confirmed as my body kept score of what was occurring.
· The recovery process involves identifying manager parts that rise to protect our exiles as defined by Schwartz.
· Brené Brown’s work with how shame keeps us from speaking our truth.
· What has been your experience?
· Using my Savior’s example of forgiveness frees my heart from torment.
