Following a tragedy in her family, Destiny Padgett found herself needing to feed and provide for everyone. Thanks to her entrepreneurial spirit, she designed and developed a line of beverage coolers, which went viral when she started selling them online. The warehouse on the family's rural property quickly became her office, and she withstood a legal "patent" challenge to sell huge ranges of alternative drink holders.
She joins Liss'N'Kristi to recount her journey from making state-themed shirts to her success on the TV Show "Shark Tank" - after she'd already made a small fortune from her business. She recounts her nervousness at pitching to the Sharks, and the challenges of scaling a small Texas-town business to a 7,000-square-foot global operation.
We discover the role social media, particularly TikTok, plays in her business growth, and we look at the potential impact of Artificial Intelligence on almost everything; from Destiny's business emails, to online pornography.
