Here's the Left of Lansing Monday Musing for July 1, 2024.
Just days before we celebrate our independence from monarchy, the MAGA majority on the Supreme Court ruled that presidents are kings!
In a 6-3 ruling, the MAGA majority wrote that presidents are immune from laws if they are "official" acts, whereas they are not immune from "unofficial" acts.
They believe any actions Dear Leader Trump took on January 6th were official acts, including insisting his followers to storm the Capitol building to obstruct the certification of the 2020 election.
But what is an "official" act compared to an "unofficial" act?
Have no fear.
The courts will decide all that for you!
Feeling good today? I'm not.
