She is joined by George Smitherman, former Liberal MPP for Toronto Centre, Health Minister and Deputy Premier; Cheri DiNovo, a former NDP MPP; and Lisa Raitt, former Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada. Toronto City Councillor Chris Moise has caused upset, including from his constituent George Smitherman, over stickers that have been placed on sidewalks in his ward that feature both his name and the City of Toronto logo on it. The stickers are promoting the message: “please walk your bike or scooter”. The question is, how much of our taxpayer dollars went into this and does this break any kind of municipal rules? We now turn our attention to the concerning trend in violent crimes in Toronto and the GTA. A home invasion in Vaughan over the weekend became the scene of a tragedy after a 46-year-old male was shot dead in front of his family by home intruders. How did we get here? And, what is going to be done about the issue of repeat offenders? A CONVERSATION WITH GLOBAL MEDIC'S RAHUL SINGH Jane Brown is joined by Rahul Singh, Executive Director of Global Medic. Afghanistan is grappling with the aftermath of a big earthquake that has left at least 1,400 people dead. Rahul discusses the latest and the issue of humanitarian aid.
