Manage episode 315936649 series 3296316
Black Men, Women, and Children are being injured and dying at high rates due to gun violence in the Black Community ...higher than any other ethnicity in America. We have recently heard from celebrities like Megan Thee Stallion, Aayrn Smiley, and Rickey Smiley about their life-threatening experiences from being victims of gun violence. Not to mention the countless shootings that happen everyday in Black Communities all over the United States. And the countless Black bodies that are being buried in the cemetery from gun violence. We all have a story of gun violence and have been affected in some way. The lives of Black men, women, and children are in a state of crisis.
In this episode, I breakdown everything you need to know about Gun Violence and Trauma in the Black Community. Why is it happening? What happens mentally when a person is shot or witnesses a shooting, or hears about it happening to a close family member/friend? What is PTSD? We are going to talk about it all! And I’m going to give you tips on how to cope.
