The national anthem, a prayer from start to finish, and the national pledge, said "before God", both demonstrate how Christianity has co-opted Jamaica's national symbols, and the Yardie Skeptics have those symbols in their sights! Is it time to consider national symbols which truly reflect the faith diversity in Jamaica? Or are there more pressing areas for secularization before turning attention to songs and pledges?
