×The Price of Success: Controlling Time and Destiny Watch On YOUTUBE: https://youtu.be/OdhI3zMB-KE Success is a journey that demands sacrifices, commitment, and a strategic approach to managing time. Reflecting on one individual's experience, it becomes evident that the cost of success is indeed worth it, particularly when it allows a person to work for passion rather than money. This post delves into their journey, the lessons learned, and the principles that have guided them. The Cost of Success For five years, my guest didn't sleep for more than four hours a day. This was the price paid to establish initial success in properties. During this period, they chose jobs that allowed control over their time, working from 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM or sometimes until 1:00 AM, which gave the mornings for personal growth and business development. The core lesson here is that whoever controls your time controls your destiny. It's not about who controls your money but your time. Facing Rejection and Building Wealth In network marketing, while selling broadband and telephone services, my guest made an average of £450 a week in addition to their salary. Embracing rejection was key, understanding that out of every ten calls, at least one would result in a positive response. Over time, the conversion rate improved, but the key was perseverance and not fearing rejection. Diversifying Income Sources A critical aspect of financial stability and wealth creation is having multiple income sources. Smart believes in having at least four income streams. Job security alone does not lead to wealth; jobs provide enough to sustain and act as a seed for creating wealth. Wealth creation comes from owning assets that generate income, such as properties, stocks, or shares. The Importance of Credit and Financial Health In the Western world, a credit record is more critical than a job or career. A poor credit record can have severe consequences, such as losing job opportunities or being denied mortgages. Managing finances prudently and maintaining a good credit score is essential. Self-Evaluation and Mental Fitness Understanding one's strengths and weaknesses is vital. Focusing on strengths and outsourcing tasks that fall within weaknesses is important. Continuous learning is also crucial; reading books, seeking information, and staying informed are key. Avoiding distractions from social media and using time wisely, even during idle moments like waiting in traffic or at the doctor's office, is essential. Conclusion Success requires dedication, strategic time management, and continuous growth. Controlling time, embracing rejection, diversifying income, and leveraging unique talents are crucial. Surrounding oneself with successful individuals, maintaining good financial health, and appreciating the journey are essential. By following these principles, one can achieve not only financial success but also a fulfilling and purposeful life. From a landslide election victory for the Labour Party and the celebration of our new Prime Minister to the excitement of the Three Lions making it to the semi-finals—it's been a remarkable time. Let's not forget the thrilling Grand Prix, where our British champion Lewis Hamilton took the lead, showcasing outstanding skill and professionalism. These events have certainly energized me, and I hope they've done the same for you. But now, let's turn our focus to something more pertinent—continuing our insightful series on Vision, Responsibility, and Value. Revisiting Last Week's Insights... Last week, we kicked off with part one of our series, featuring a thought-provoking conversation with my friend Pastor Smart. The response has been overwhelming, with many reaching out to express their gratitude for the valuable insights shared. Pastor Smart, if you're reading this, a heartfelt thank you for your invaluable lessons and experiences. Diving Deeper: Wealth Creation and Mindsets This week, we dive deeper into our discussions, where Pastor Smart expounds on his experiences and the wisdom he imparts to his mentees about wealth creation, mindsets, mentoring, and capacity building. My goal for you is simple: as you absorb this information, may it inspire growth and motivate you to implement some of the strategies shared. The Wealth Potential in Five Countries Pastor Smart introduces a fascinating concept: if you live in one of five countries—the United Kingdom, America, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada—and are between the ages of 21 and 41, becoming a multi-millionaire within 20 years is entirely within your reach. The systems in these countries are designed in such a way that, if understood and leveraged correctly, can create enormous wealth. Imagine the system as a powerful current in a river. Even if you're only capable of modest effort (let's say two strokes per second), if you align yourself with the current moving at five strokes per second, you will progress significantly faster. Conversely, fighting against the current, no matter how hard you try, will only push you backward. Practical Application: Investing Minimum Wage Earnings Consider someone working a minimum-wage job at Tesco, earning £1,750 monthly. If this individual is young (around 20 or 21) and aligns with an organization like ours, we propose a 20-year plan. By setting aside £750 monthly and investing it in income-generating systems like the S&P 500 (which yielded 24% last year) or other reliable investment accounts, substantial wealth can be accumulated. Building Wealth Through Strategic Investments Let’s break it down further: By investing £750 monthly in an account yielding an average of 10%, the cumulative interest over 20 years would result in a portfolio valued at approximately £24 million, with the equity surpassing £30 million. This demonstrates the power of understanding and leveraging the financial systems available. The Importance of Mindset and Responsibility A crucial element of this journey is mindset. Success requires desire, responsibility, and the elimination of blame. It doesn't matter where you come from or your family’s financial history. In these five countries, with the right mindset and understanding of the system, wealth creation is possible. Questioning the Value of University Education Pastor Smart challenges the traditional path of university education, suggesting that for many, apprenticeships offer a more practical and financially rewarding route. By learning a trade and earning while gaining experience, individuals can avoid the burden of student loans and secure well-paying jobs in fields like bricklaying, joinery, and roofing. The Role of Mentorship in Achieving Success Mentorship plays a pivotal role in this journey. By adding value to mentors and learning from their experiences, individuals can fast-track their path to success. Pastor Smart shares a personal anecdote about helping a successful shipping agent, which led to a profitable business partnership. This highlights the importance of giving value in mentor-mentee relationships rather than just seeking personal gain. Before diving into that, I want to share a personal story. On May 21st, I was in a car accident with my son. Despite demolishing a bus stop and our vehicle tumbling twice, we escaped with minor scratches by God's grace. This incident reinforced my commitment to share valuable information to impact lives positively. In this episode, I'll discuss seven areas crucial for a fulfilled life. These include physical health, financial mastery, relationship enrichment, spiritual growth, emotional well-being, vocational fulfilment, and social connection. Balancing these areas is essential for a complete life. For example, nurturing your physical health is foundational, as we're spiritual beings having a physical experience. Lastly, I'll share upcoming interviews with people who've succeeded in unique ways and are making significant changes locally and globally. Success is a journey of daily growth, not a destination. So, let's explore these seven life areas together. If you find the information useful, like, share, and comment on how you're implementing it in your life. I'm from Kenya, and when I came to UK I used to tell my wife, I'm not a rabbit. I don't eat green vegetables. I eat refined food, i.e., meat and carbs. How ignorant I was, and I'm so glad that she never gave up on encouraging me to eat right. She introduced me to salads and supplements, and I think, wow, that was a God-sent lady. Exercise. Are you taking physical exercise? Do you go for a walk? Are you stretching? Are you breathing right? What about rest? Do you sleep enough, or are you chasing money? Without sleep, rest, and nutrition, your body ages faster. Now, let's talk about emotional well-being. I've worked in mental health hospitals, and life can be challenging. Certain circumstances may overwhelm us, and sometimes it's not our fault. Now, vocational fulfilment involves finding purpose in your work. Discover what you are created to do. Align your job with your unique gifts, because fulfilling work enriches life. Balancing professional success with personal fulfilment is crucial. Financial mastery is also vital. Align financial goals with personal values. Don’t outsource financial responsibility; take charge yourself. Learn to make, keep, and multiply money for growth and expansion. Relationship enrichment involves effective communication, conflict resolution, and building trust. Improve relationships by starting with self-improvement. Social connections are crucial; build networks that work. Embrace diversity, empathy, and social responsibility. Lastly, spiritual growth is about connecting with the divine and inner wisdom. We are all spiritual beings, and cultivating mindfulness, gratitude, and inner peace is essential. Focus on all seven areas of life for balance, fulfilment, and success. Life is a journey that every single one of us needs to engage in personally. So the seven areas of life is just to offer a holistic roadmap for personal development and empowerment. Seek: to try and get or find something especially something that is not physical ( Camb. Dicti. ) investigate, search, aspire, look around for, fish for, ransack for, ask, strive for, root out, probe and look for … in other wards, desire inspires seeking . What is your hearts desire? Ask: to put a question to someone, or to request an answer from someone. Synonyms: inquire, interrogate, query, and question Believe: Accept that (something) is true, especially without proof ( Oxford Dic ). To accept something as true, genuine, or real, to have a firm conviction as to the goodness, efficacy, or ability of something ( M.Webstar dic ). To have faith, be confident, think, be convinced, accept, conclude, affirm, be certain, feel sure, conceive and postulate Receive: to get or be given something: acquire, collect, inherit, obtain, accommodate, greet with open arms, intussusception, secure, take possession of. Let's look a little deeper... ----more---- 1. Seeking Seeking is the conscious effort to get to God through the natural means (mental or physical) — to constantly set our minds toward God in all our desires, experiences; to direct our minds and hearts toward him through the means of his revelation that comes to us as we seek Him. Mat 6:33 "But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also." What or Who are you looking for? Amos 5:14: Seek (long for, require) good and not evil, that you may live;And so may the Lord God of hosts be with you, Just as you have said! How do you seek? Jere 29:13 Amp Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. Mat 7:7-8 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Can you see why your goal is coming to you? 2. Ask: To put a question to someone, or to request an answer from someone. Synonyms: inquire, interrogate, query, and question. Are you wishing or asking? Observe how a child asks, they have a sense of certainty they will receive. Why do we as adults wish more than ask? Who has poisoned our thinking? Who are you asking? If you doubt the existence of God, can you really ask Him? If you don’t think or believe He loves and cares for you, can you really receive from Him? Isaiah 65:24: (ESV) Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear. How do you ask? Examine your WHY James 4:2-3 You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your desires go unfulfilled; [so] you become murderers. [To hate is to murder as far as your hearts are concerned.] You burn with envy and anger and are not able to obtain [the gratification, the contentment, and the happiness that you seek], so you fight and war. You do not have, because you do not ask.[Or] you do ask [God for them] and yet fail to receive, because you ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention is [when you get what you desire] to spend it in sensual pleasures. James Allen in As a Man Thinketh said you can not travel within and stand still without. Question your motives as to why you are asking for what you desire. Is it your want or another persons want for you? 3. Believe: To have a firm conviction as to the goodness, efficacy, or ability of something What & in Whom do you believe? Everyone believes something! Even the one who thinks s/he doesn't still does. Like in my previous podcast on prayer where we explored the nature of prayer and said everyone prays ( click here to listen ), the capacity to believe is inbuilt. The direction though is based on your choice. Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, “[You say to Me,] ‘If You can?’ All things are possible for the one who believes and trusts [in Me]!” How do you believe? Psalm 145:18 (Amp) The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth (without guile). Mark 11:23 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and [ a ]does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will]. 1 Thess. 5:18 Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 4. Receive: To get or be given something: acquire, collect, inherit, obtain. How do you receive? This is a matter of examining your heart. Listen to the message on Attitude for better understanding. In Luke 17;11-19 we see the testimony of the 10 lepers who were healed BUT only the samaritan came back to say thank you. This was fascinating even to Jesus that he commented on it. Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. Isiah 59:2: But your iniquities/wickedness have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. Philip (Amp) 4:6: Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. Ps. 100:4-5: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” James 1:17: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” Gratitude amplifies your heart vibration and the attraction process if multiplied. Through the mental faculty of imagination, create the images of your heart's desire coming your way and begin now to give thanks that it is here. While giving thanks to God, you need to provide service towards humans with a grateful servant heart. Summery - Seek - finding Ask - answering Believe - conviction Receive - having Phil 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable— if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. James Allen, As A Man Thinketh Your Hearts Desires What you want. We are still working on the Science and Art of getting what you WANT NOT what you NEED. One of the reasons I love the UK is that there are provisions to help you with what you NEED and a legal system that allows one to pursue what they want. On refection, did you set a goal based on your needs or wants? Sometimes what you want is also what’s needed. The desires of our hearts are based on wants. Every comfort you are living in today was as a result of wants. Let us not be stagnated by those who tell us to be satisfied with your needs being met,. If this was sufficient, inventions like the phone, cars and planes would never have manifested for us to enjoy; it is the Fathers' desire to give you the kingdom. Phil 4:6: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; With this in mind, let us look at the LAWS that govern how we create our realities. I will outline the laws and we will explore each of them in little detail over the next few weeks. This way you can begin to understand that the coincidences in your life have a purpose whether you know it or not. The ultimate purpose being leading you to God the Father through the Son Jesus Christ. The Law of Vibration of Attraction: everything moves, or vibrates, nothing rests. The Law of Perpetual Transmutation: explains that everything in the universe is the manifestation of energy in various levels of vibration. The unseen is moving into the unseen. The Law of Rhythm: that everything is moving to and fro, flowing in and out up and down, left to right etc. The Law of Relativity: all things are relative, including all laws. The Law of Polarity: everything in the universe has its opposite The Law of Cause and Effect/ karmic law or sowing & reaping: whatever you send into the Universe comes back. The Law of Gender: everything in nature is both male and female. This is the law of procreation. Today I will talk about how we exist in three levels of awareness (Spirit/Soul/Body) and the relationship between the The Spiritual Plane of Inspired Thoughts (Highest Potential) Desire or Fear (vibrations) Thoughts Imagination It’s vitally important to remember the words of one of the wisest kings who manifested supernatural realities like no other in his time. King Solomon said ‘guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life’ prov. 4:23. The BEST way to guard your heart is to give it to a MASTER Protector. One who’s ULTIMATE DESIRE is to keep you safe - Jesus Christ the MESSIAH all other so called masters, prophets and even gurus are still dead and the ones who are live are heading there, DECIDE! (click here to watch the case for Christ on Amazon ) Remember the law of perpetual transmutation that states that Spirit/Energy is forever moving from the unseen to the seen - or from spirit to form. This is the nature of consciousness. We are spiritual beings first and manifest in the physical plane last. We capture spirit’s communication by thought vibrations. When we are aligned with a frequency, the brain translates the waves into a message we understand - either a feeling (heart) an image or a word in the brain. We can use the human head to represent this part of manifestation the head is the part that we use to judge the world. It is here that we can make decisions to be or not to be. Here we choose. In this plane of existence, all things exist as potential, waves or vibrations. Using our imagination and reasoning, we begin to combine what we perceive in relation to our reality - need or want. The Intellectual Plane of Ideas (Middle Potential) Belief/Expectancy - perceptions, choices, information Feelings/Vibration - body biological The brain is a switching station that is responsible for decoding the incoming intellectual message while the heart interprets the vibrational value of the message. If you live too much in your head, you rationalise everything while the ‘hearty’ person feels everything. The brain is male in nature while the heart is feminine. The brain chooses, the heart manifests. While scientists have focused on understanding the brain and its functions, thy have left the heart out. However, there is concrete evidence that the heart is much more powerful than the head. It is the integration of the two where we find peace of mind, health and wholeness. There are tools created that can measure your coherence ratios and analyse your hearts condition . I highly recommend getting familiar with such instruments. “The heart’s electrical field is about 60 times greater in amplitude than the electrical activity generated by the brain. This field, measured in the form of an electrocardiogram ( ECG ), can be detected anywhere on the surface of the body. Furthermore, the magnetic field produced by the heart is more than 100 times greater in strength than the field generated by the brain and can be detected up to 3 feet away from the body, in all directions” HeartMath Inst . The Physical Plane of Results (Lowest Potential) - Affirmation, Confession or Self Talk - when you ask for what you want (Ask,Seek,Knock), ways begin to show up as coincidences. As you speak, you are depositing ‘seeds’ in the atmosphere which will bring results sooner or later. Are you feeding Heavenly ideas by FAITH talk or the opposite by doubt and fear filled confessions? Inspired Feelings - The feeling is the feedback loop. Keep self-correcting, you will make as many mistakes as are necessary till you find the way. At first, it will feel strange but keep going till the strange feeling becomes your new normal. Make that call, introduce yourself, ask for help, give something away, buy a new book… just DO something in line with what you want. Go as far as you can see, the way will open for you (faith in action). Manifestation in Action - If you can hold it in your head, keep the feeling alive in your body, trust and obey the inspired direction, it will be in your hands sooner or later. Have faith. The material world is the final stage of manifestation. It is what we call ‘reality’. However, the one who has the capacity to hold the image they have conceived from the spiritual realm, has a different reality all together. Walt Disney was known for saying that if all his team agreed with his idea, he would scrap it and make it much bigger. Do you believe? Can you TRUST God? The path of obedience is narrow, the way is filled with challenges but the end thereof is joy everlasting. You will be tested. The way of faith is taking inspired action towards the vision of promise. Summery - We operate in three levels of consciousness. Your heart is more powerful than your head As you take action towards the goal, there is an equal and corresponding action towards you from the Spiritual realm. We have built the foundation (mental Faculties) and we will start building upon it. Let us step into the manifestation process of your desired good. The speed will be based on your intensity of application of both the mental and physical actions. Influencing your Thoughts: According to scientists, the average person has between 18,000 - 50,000 thoughts a day!! Depending in your ‘default setting’/ personality or temperament, some of this thoughts will enter your unconscious mind without any resistance or evaluation i.e they will by-pass your ‘gate keeper’ or conscious mind without your knowledge. How do you protect your mind from the mental assault? Since you can not monitor all the incoming thoughts, you need an effective strategy. Interrupting your internal dialogue is one of the most effective way. The battle for your life is not physical but spiritual/vibrational in nature. Considering that the brain is a switching station and pick up information from our surrounding, you can redirect the energy flow by changing the running script. Speak - Your words curry vibrational power. When released, they influence the environment which returns to you what you sent 2 Cor 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [ a ]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing e very thought into captivity to the obedien ce of C hrist, Chose your thoughts carefully, if repeated frequently, they have power to change your destiny. “Thoughts are language of the brain, feelings are the language of the body.” Dr. J Dispenza. Understanding your Feelings - This is the language of the subconscious mind. They make us feel + towards or - from. What kind of feelings do you experience when you imagine your goal? If you have set a good goal that will stretch your capacity both mentally and physically, you will generate foreign uncomfortable feelings. This is followed by associating the feelings with either positive or negative past experiences. Positive and negative emotion help orient you as you work toward achieving your goals. Your mind acts as a series of maps that specify a journey. These maps help you perceive goals and aims, understand where you are, and calculate a path forward. Positive and negative emotion function to help you understand your location relative to your goals and to motivate you toward or away from them. We perceive those emotions as a measure of how effective and valid the map is. We calibrate our emotions, both positive and negative, based on the emotions of those around us. The more you make progress towards your goal, you will increase positive feeling within yourself. Prov 15:13 - A joyful heart makes a cheerful countenance, but sorrow of the heart crushes the spirit. By moving towards the new set goal, you will experience strange feelings in your body. This will come as a warning sign that you are moving away from the norm. It’s a sign of growth. You subconscious is telling you that you are entering new territory and you should be ware of risks. This is the place we either move back to safety or forward into growth. Your feelings need to be updated in line with the emotions needed for the new destination. This will happen via your imagination. Since the mind doesn’t know reality from imagined ‘fiction’, we use our imagination faculty to produce the images and feelings of the new future. Your nervous system will log the new sensations in your body which will make it easier for you to repeat the imagined action in real life. Automatic Action: This is an indication of growth. The strange feelings are an indication that you are moving into the known/comfort zone into the unknown. It doesn’t matter if the action is imagined or real, it will feel strange. You are more likely to move forward into growth or backwards into ‘safety’. If you have ever made a sales call, attended the first interview or had to introduce yourself to a new person or crowd, you know that feeling. In order to take consistent action towards growth, you can start taking the journey mentally, record the feeling in your body and make it familiar to your nervous system. You will need to engage your imagination and be open to the possibility or the mental image becoming a reality. The intensity of reality and frequency of repetition you employ will determine how fast you can take real physical action without thinking to run back to safety. This is what it means to walk by faith and not by sight. Mark 11:24: Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Understanding your Results: The law of sowing and reaping dictates that whatsoever a man saws, he will reap. If you take actions, there will be corresponding and equal reaction. The results you get will not be as imagined. In fact, they are more likely to be way off. However, do not be discouraged. Know that it is working. Have faith and go into your ‘closet’ and pray - ask and receive in your mind and heart. Feel the waves of gratitude and then get back in the field and repeat the actions over and over again. Do not give up your vision of good until you receive. It is important to realise that the higher the quality of your goal, the higher the test. In the peruse of your goal, it will appear as if you are ‘loosing’ money, time sleep or even your mind. That is the point you need to recalibrate. Calibrating Thoughts, feelings and actions: The results you get initially will not be what you expect. In fact, they will be out of alignment with your goal. So before you get frustrated, remember that the road is not the destination. There are no straight roads in life. Remind yourself why is it so important for you to get the result you want. Are you making progress? Are you getting comfortable with the discomfort? Could this be the way it is supposed to feel? Summery - stepping out of the past into your goal: On average, your brain will process over 30,000 thoughts. Capture them with you spoken word. Your feelings are indicators if you are moving towards or away from your goal. Strange feelings will manifest if you are growing. If your results do not match your expectation, analyse them in relation to your goal and do what works. Seek help from a person who has manifested similar goals. Memory is the faculty by which the brain encodes, stores, and retrieves information. It is a record of experience that guides future action. Rehearsal : Repetition of an item in short-term memory in order to store it in long-term memory. Generally without repetition, memory is hardly formed! Although I am still learning this information, I can testify that memory can indeed be improved through ridiculous associations. Joshua 1:8 - This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Repetition is the mother of learning. By affirmatively declaring what you desire to see in your life, you will behold sooner or later. How can you develop your memory? There are many ways you can develop memory, some simple and others very long and complicated. One of the best way is to find a tested and proven technique and use it to your advantage. Perception Perception refers to the way sensory information is organised, interpreted, and consciously experienced. Do not fear them.” How do you perceive yourself? What is your perception about 2021? Who are you allowing to shape how you perceive yourself? But intuition is nothing but the outcome of earlier intellectual experience.” Albert Einstein. Mental Systems or Faculties. What are they, where are they located and how can we use them to program ourselves for success. Where are they? Mental faculties reside in our conscious mind and they are responsible for the programming of the unconscious mind. What are they? They are divided into two; one set receives information from the outside world (five senses) while the second set deals from the inside out (intellectual factors). Part 1: your five senses - sight, taste, touch, hearing, smell. This part of you is meant to relate to and gets information from the outside world or your external environment. The information is fed to your intellectual faculties for processing. Take taste for example - while we can simply say that we know the use of this sense, why do we not eat healthy food? Why do we crave things like junk foods? The sense has been programmed to desire certain types of tastes… How about sight - why do you think children are able to play with each other without seeing colour only to grow up to become racists? Part 2: Unlike the 5 well known senses, the intellectual factors deal from the inside out… Will, Memory, Perception, Intuition, Imagination, Reason. If you are anything like me, you probably believe that you have a bad memory or you may have heard people say I am have no imagination commonly referred as I am not creative..🧐 “You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.” James Allen 1. Will or Volition: Def : It i s your conscious power of choice. It’s also referred to with words like accord , autonomy , choice , free will and self-determination. It is the power behind the why… Willpower is the ability to resist short-term distractions and temptations in order to meet long-term goals. It is a mental muscle that can be improved and strengthened. Have you ever heard of the marshmallow test ? Scholars tested children’s strength to resist instant against delayed gratification. The results indicated that these who have the capacity to resist instant gratification in preference of a better reward in the future ended up succeeding even in later life. The marshmallow test turned out to be one of the best tests of the will. How would do you perform in the ‘instant gratification’ test? Are you the YOLO type of person or do you save for a better deal? Your success in any part of life depends on how well you’ve developed your willpower. However, the will can be exhausted… This is documented in a parable in Luke 18: 1- 8, where the Master Jesus taught about the importune widow who exhausted the patience of the ruthless judge. Studies suggest that willpower fails due to exposure to an emotionally charged stimulus that overrides one’s rational, cognitive system, leading to impulsive actions. You are more likely to fall into temptation when you are tired, hungry, fearful, worried anxious etc. Willpower experts have observed that repeatedly resisting temptation drains your ability to withstand future enticements. Could this be the reason why Satan came to test Jesus after fasting for 40 days and later in the garden of Gethsemane? 2. Reason. Def: to think or argue in a logical manner; to form conclusions, judgments, or inferences from facts or premises. Reason is the centre of your thinking. It is here that we evaluate facts, fiction and fantasies. Where fiction is turned into fact and fantasy into science and goals into results. One of my favourite teachers says ‘dream big dreams, build beautiful and magnificent castles in the air than get busy building foundations to support them’. I have followed his advise and I can tell you that this is good advise. Think about it, even ‘YHWH’ God the creator of the universe calls us to reason with him!! “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…” Isiah 1:18 I remember in a class where the lecture was explaining critical reasoning and he said… the best way to explain it is by saying but after a fact has been stated. This is an indication of a thinking person. A simple example is all things fall down, fact. But some balloons float upwards, another fact. But those that float have different type of gas in them… etc. Got did not create you to become a robot! You are not in a simulation type of reality where some ‘higher intelligence’ is playing chess with your life. In contrast, you are a co-creator of your reality. The better we learn the laws that govern your mind, the better we can apply the universal laws that God has put inlace for us to express the ‘God-like’ nature within us. Some pillar of reasoning: All reasoning is an attempt to figure something out, to settle a question, to solve some problem - reach a goal. All reasoning leads somewhere, has implications and consequences. All reasoning is based on data, information, and evidence. Prov 25:2 - it is to the glory of God to conceal a matter and honour of kings to search it out. God has hidden a desire in your heart to His glory and as you manifest the goal it is to your advantage. So let your light so shine that all men may glorify God. As you develop your reasoning faculty, you will accelerate towards your goals and dreams.…

If we are to do things differently this year, we must seek understanding of who we are and how we operate. Have you realised how easy it is for people to be offended nowadays? If we can not stand constructive criticism, how can we get better? Proverbs 29:1 says: He who is stubborn/ rebellious/ obstinate or hardens his neck and refuses instruction after being often reproved (corrected, criticised), will suddenly be broken beyond repair. Now that we have made it to 2021, what are we going to do differently to make it worth the struggles we faced, and the ones are going to face on a global, national, local and finally personal level? “If you plan on being anything less than you are capable of being, you will probably be unhappy all the days of your life.” Abraham Maslow What is a goal? a form of self-regulation adopted by humans to achieve specific aims/objectives/ results. An idea that helps you stay focused on the outcome, An idea that facilitate responses that are compatible with one’s objectives. A mental idea, or cognitive representations, based in the mind. a mental image of a future possibility that influences present attitudes and behaviour. Primarily, there are two types of goals: approach-focused – move you towards a positive result avoidance-focused – moves you away from a negative result E.g. take a financial goal, an away goal may be – to spend less than I earn – avoid debt; whereas towards one may be to improve my cashflow, budgeting skills and save some £££. The idea here is that one person is avoiding pain and the other is moving towards pleasure. We are trained/conditioned to avoid pain which is the more powerful motivator than pleasure. A good goal then should motivate you to work towards pleasure while avoiding pain at the same time. The mindset makes the difference. What is the purpose of a goal? A proper set goal should provide you with the incentive/motivation to grow. By growth I mean that the goal should motivate you to acquire new skills, make new contacts and increase your capacity as an individual and discover more of who you are and are capable of. NB: your goal should NEVER be to beat any other person other than to grow beyond your current limitation. The ultimate purpose of a goal is GROWTH towards the unlimited nature within you – towards God in whose image we are created. I love what the World Heavyweight Boxer from UK, Anthony Joshua [AJ] says when he is trapped by the media reporters when asked if he thinks he will beat an opponent… his response is “I am not in competition with anyone else other than myself” [watch the video at the bottom] To BE better than I was/am, so I can DO more than I am doing/did; consequently, I will GET/Have more than before so I can GIVE more than ever before. The purpose of a goal is to help us develop more awareness with the Infinite power within us. The DEVINE has given us laws of expression or creation and by applying the laws, we automatically improve our results. To get the awareness we need demands that we replace our old ways of thinking, feeling and doing otherwise known as conditioning (genetic + environmental). Conditioning or our habitual nature is fixed in the sub-conscious/ unconscious mind over time. Go out and get busy.” Dale Carnegie Ego-death — the fear of humiliation, shame, or any other mechanism of profound self-disapproval that threatens the loss of integrity of the self ; the fear of the shattering or disintegration of one's constructed sense of lovability, capability, and worthiness ( (Albrecht, 2007) ). This is not a definitive definition, but we can gain some understanding of the nature of the psychological nature of ego death . To illustrate, imagine being ridiculed in public and everyone in the crowd knows you… the fear that grips an individual the moment they realise they are about to face public failure, ridicule and humiliation. Although the fear is imaginary, the reality of the ‘event’ makes the manifestation of the fear real. FREEZE is normally the response that come with it. Has the bible given examples of this? In John 16, Jesus tells his followers that He is about to be experience ultimate death (ego+bodily) by humiliation in public than hang naked on a tree to die after which they will be hunted like criminals (ego-death)… BUT vs 33 he gives them the keys to the new life… He has overcome the world… Ego-death, though a psychological experience, can have everlasting consequences. Chose the death that guarantees everlasting life, choose Jesus to guide you through life… For every FEAR we share, God has given us a HIS IMMUTABLE Name we can use to overcome negative consequences. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.(Rom 10:13) Fear of Extinction - YHWH El Olam Fear of Mutilation - YHWH – Rapha Fear of Loss of Autonomy - YHWH Haggo’el – God the redeemer!! Fear of Separation – YHWH El-Shaddai Fear of Ego-Death – The Life Giving Spirit I hope this series has been helpful to you and prepared you to take on 2021 by the horns… For me, this series has been a blessing and especially when I was down with COVID-19… both me and my wife fell ill at the same time… but when fear came calling, I responded by faith that I will live to tell of the goodness of God in the land of the living. iii) Fear of Loss of Autonomy — the fear of being immobilized, paralyzed, restricted, enveloped, overwhelmed, entrapped, imprisoned, smothered, or otherwise controlled by circumstances beyond our control. In physical form, it's commonly known as claustrophobia, but it also extends to our social interactions and relationships. Taking into consideration what is happening today all around the world, many people are feeling this kind of fear because of the corona-virus. The fear is intensified by the fact that the virus causes breathing restrictions… suffocation triggers a lot of anxiety… like drowning There is hope… In a story found in John 5:4-9 talks about a man that was invalid/paralysed for 38 years… This is a classic case of Loss of Autonomy!!! After so many years, the man’s reality was he will never get out of his paralysis… it kind of fells like that for most of us in 2020… But THERE IS HOPE! 8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. (John 5:8-9) YHWH/ Jehovah Haggo’el – God the redeemer!! FEAR has the power to captivate and arrest your dream literally!! BUT… today we are finding a way to demystify it!! There is no courage without the reality of perceived danger. Fail to fully commit and have had very few long-term relationships Move on quickly just to ensure that you don't get too attached. Aim to please Engage in unwanted sex (this is common in women). Stay in relationships no matter how unhealthy they are. Struggle with being hard to please and nitpicky. Have difficulty experiencing emotional intimacy Feel insecure and unworthy of love. Find it hard to trust people. Experience intense feelings of separation anxiety. Have feelings of general anxiety and depression. Tend to overthink things and work hard to figure out hidden meanings.
