Beata Gutman is an entrepreneur, executive producer, and pioneer in impact ventures & investments. She is CEO & founder, Grasshopper, a global venture-building and advisory firm; partner in Grasshopper Film, an Academy Award-winning film distribution company; executive producer for Grasshopper Productions. Over two decades, Ms. Gutman has driven economic development in emerging markets around the world through foreign direct investment.
She has served as senior advisor and strategist for globally-renowned Fortune 500 companies, including Samsung, General Electric, Southwest Airlines, Kraft, and Disney. She counsels clients through challenging moments in business operations and leads them toward sustainable growth and conscious leadership. Ms. Gutman is an innovator in impact programming. Her work includes starting and growing dozens of non-profit organizations and movements ranging from women’s empowerment and climate action to public health and workforce development. She has raised millions of dollars for NGOs through strategic partnerships and advises a number of UN agencies and programs. Ms. Gutman founded Grasshopper in 2015 in response to the need for resilient solutions to global systems failures.
The company’s portfolio addresses health and wellness, food systems, education, clean energy, urban planning & infrastructure, gender equality, and conscious design. Grasshopper manages every stage of the venture building process, from conception and strategy to fundraising, implementation, and global communications. Grasshopper Film has acquired a library of over 250 independent, foreign, and documentary films, with 3 Academy Award nominations and 1 win. Ms. Gutman and her business partner, Ryan Krivoshey, launched Grasshopper Productions. They are executive producers on the forthcoming film PERCY, starring Christopher Walken. They are also producing mission-driven documentaries on prison reform, the food system, and wildlife conservation.
