Gravy showcases a South that is constantly evolving, accommodating new immigrants, adopting new traditions, and lovingly maintaining old ones. It uses food as a means to explore all of that, to dig into lesser-known corners of the region, complicate stereotypes, document new dynamics, and give voice to the unsung folk who grow, cook, and serve our daily meals.

Taking you back to - 1/26/20010 - Being featured this week is the “Winningest Man” in BBQ and the pitmaster of Jack’s Old South, Myron Mixon. This is really weird…understand that on Friday, this interview will be celebrating it’s 14 year anniversary!! 14 years!!! In this episode we talked about the 2009 season that had wrapped up…here’s some insight: 2009 team of the year Memphis Barbecue Network, 22nd overall finish in the Florida Barbecue Association, 35th overall in the KCBS, we talked about BBQ Pitmasters TV show…this is also a point in Myron’s career where he was really getting quite a bit of celebrity attention…as in poparazzi…if you can believe it…we talk about that as well. Great interview…he always gives great interviews…so if you weren’t around 14 years ago, you can catch up this Friday…look for it!
