In this week’s episode of the Gay City News podcast “Thank You For Coming Out,” creator and host Dubbs Weinblatt (they/ them) welcomes Rabbi Becky Silverstein (he/him) and Joanna (Jo) Ware (she/her).

Rabbi Becky Silverstein believes in the power of community, Torah, and silliness in transforming the world. He strives to build a Jewish community and world that encourages and allows everyone to live a life that reflects their inherent divinity / dignity. Becky is a member of the faculty at SVARA: A Traditionally Radical Yeshiva, where he is the co-director of the Trans Halakha Project.

Jo Ware is an organizer, facilitator, and educator, and currently serves as the Founding Executive Director of the Jewish Liberation Fund. She has spent over a decade working with organizations – inside and outside of the Jewish world – to bring forth a more just, whole, and liberatory world. Joanna has worked as a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) consultant, Adaptive Leadership teacher and practitioner, community organizer, and popular educator at the intersections of identity, power, leadership, and social justice. Joanna is a queer femme of Sephardic, Ashkenazi, and non-Jewish European roots, from an interfaith family. Originally from San Diego, she now lives in Boston with her spouse Diana and their kiddo.
