In this episode of the podcast, we’re talking to Jenilee Samuel, host of the "Java with Jen" podcast. Jenilee shares her journey in ministry, her motivation for starting her podcast, and the challenges she faced along the way. She shares insights on integrating faith into podcasting, tips for new podcasters, and practical advice on hearing God's voice.

We talked about:

  • Starting a Podcast

    • Begin with the basics and keep it simple. Focus on essentials like a good mic, headphones, and a platform. You can upgrade and add more features as you grow.

  • Knowing Your Audience

    • Understand your audience by reflecting on your own past struggles and listening to the feedback and concerns of your listeners. Use their language and address their pain points.

  • Overcoming Challenges

    • Deal with discouragement from others by holding firm to your boundaries and seeking confirmation from God. Stay true to your calling despite opposition.

  • Creating Content

    • Draw inspiration from feedback, guests, personal experiences, and tools like ChatGPT. Be open to suggestions and responsive to your audience's needs.

  • Screening Guests

    • Ensure potential guests align with your mission and values. Conduct get-to-know-you calls and be prepared to edit or decline episodes that don't fit your audience.
