Do you find you are more critical of your partner than you are of others? If so, you're not alone. On this week's show, Del and Barry discuss the many reasons why many of us hold our partners to a higher standard. Unlike our friendships, we're often more critical of our partners due to emotional intimacy and expectations. Close relationships reveal vulnerabilities and imperfections, magnifying flaws. Moreover, invested emotions can amplify reactions to perceived shortcomings. Despite this, recognizing our biases and fostering empathy can mitigate undue criticism, nurturing healthier dynamics built on understanding and acceptance.
