The first Women's sports bar, The Sports Bra, opened in Portland Oregon just a few years ago. Since then, a handful more have popped up in big cities around the U.S., but there isn't one in San Francisco...yet!
I know someone who is working on that, though. She's a journalist turned User Experience (UX) researcher, who was sold the Stability Myth and has kept a job as well as one can in the media and tech industries from the early 2000s through this year of our lady 2024. She's an avid sports watcher and fan, and kept thinking about a Women's sports bar in San Francisco, just assuming someone else was thinking about it, too!
Here we are, talking about what is either the beginning or somewhere toward the middle of her process, who's to say! We talk about career choice regrets, transitions, fundraising, finding a location, and what her inspired her to actually try to do this pretty Big Thing.
