Rita’s ingredients for readiness – to set yourself up for success

  1. Accept the diagnosis and be ‘all in’ – stop doctor shopping, looking for physical fixes and participating in groups that centre around any diagnoses you have given
  2. Suspend your disbelief – go into this with an open mind
  3. Have an optimistic outlook – recognised that other people have gotten better
  4. Have a bit of grit – be willing to take a risk
  5. Have a general understanding that this is not a physical journey that you’re about to embark on but an emotional and spiritual one
