Jackie Kalmink on The Fever Haze's Return, An Apple on the Highest Branch, and Michigan's DIY Legacy
Manage episode 352039955 series 2899538
Welcome to an all-new Films for the Void, Bonus Episode #22! In this episode, Landon interviews Jackie Kalmink - a West Michigan singer-songwriter who spent much of the past decade releasing music and playing shows as the vocalist and guitarist of The Fever Haze, who played their final show in December 2017. However, a lot has changed for her over the past few years, as she’s not only taken over bass duties for shoegaze/indie rock band Greet Death and starting her own project Further Closer, but has also resurrected The Fever Haze, playing shows for much of last year and closing 2022 out with the release of their new record An Apple on the Highest Branch. You can catch The Fever Haze opening for Secret Grief at The Avenue in Lansing, MI on January 14, as well as headlining The Pyramid Scheme in Grand Rapids on February 26.
Landon and Jackie talk about her return to The Fever Haze, their new record, joining Greet Death, and some of her favorite films - all on the latest episode of Films for the Void!
