Here are the show notes for this episode with Aubrey:
#4 Aubrey de Grey 2023 Part 3:
If you missed Part 2 of this series with Aubrey de Grey, it is a must listen. This episode builds on its foundation. In Part 2 (last episode) we:
a) Compared Aubrey's Robust Mouse Rejuvenation (RMR) predictions from 20 years ago with how we are today,
b) Explored how much room relatively more optimized species like humans may have for profoundly extending life vs.in mice.
c) looked into the future with new goals for RMR, delving into the rationale for different expectations than we had for the first round of RMR..
This Part 3 with Aubrey de Grey builds on this, and devles into predictions in people Addressed this episode:
1. How does one go about making accurate and responsible predictions about anticipated lifespan extension in people?
2. What is the framework, and how does making such predictions influence progress in the field.
3. Again, not shy of controversy Aubrey articles his case for justification of making specific predictions, the basis for his timetable in humans, and elaborates on his views on what good science and good science communication should look like in this arena.
I hope you are finding these valuable. I created the Agingdoc Podcast series so that specific areas can be more fully addressed for a more sophisticated audience already well-versed in the geroscience and longevity literature.
