Divorce can induce anxiety in everyone, including our children. As parents we can be the safe place for our children to help them work through anxious feelings. This week Michelle Dempsey-Multack is joined by Moving On Method Certified Coach Lucy Dimmitt to take a deep dive into helping anxious children in divorce. Lucy is a co-parenting mom of one, who understands the emotional needs of children during and after divorce. This informative episode will cover:

  • How to talk to anxious children about divorce and keep the conversation going
  • Giving your children a safe space to talk about their feelings
  • Being clear on what will change and what will stay the same
  • Allowing children to have small choices to ensure a sense of control
  • AND SO MUCH MORE

Lucy Dimmitt is a Florida Bar Licensed Attorney, Certified Divorce and Co-Parenting Coach and a mom. As an attorney, coach, and mom, she has a unique perspective, and has a passion for helping moms find their strengths, and reconnect with themselves during the divorce process. Her coaching strategy is always child focused, and she has an affection for helping with children who are highly sensitive or have special circumstances like anxiety or OCD.

As a child of divorce, and having gone through one herself, Lucy fully understands how divorce instantly changes the lives of everyone involved. She understands how scary and confusing everything seems and has dedicated her business life to helping moms alleviate some of these struggles and fears. Divorce is terrifying and hard, but it does not have to ruin your life, or your children's lives. Lucy knows that when divorce and co-parenting are handled the right way, it does not just have to be an end, but is the beginning of a new and beautiful life for moms and children.

Lucy has a BA from Florida State University, an MHA from Florida Atlantic University, a JD from Nova Southeastern University and was trained by the Moms Moving on Method for Divorce and Co-Parenting coaching. She is also currently becoming a Certified Divorce Specialist.
