1:09:25Eric Czerlonka is CEO and Managing Director of Czerlonka Event Design and Management - an organization known for planning luxury events and excuting unique travel experiences in places like Marrakesh, Buenos Aires and Rwanda. They also customize domestic excursions in the US to fit the personalities of their flourishing client base. To say Czerlonka has traveled the world is an understatement, but in doing so he has amassed a powerful community of connections that support him to create these experiences. Eric is one of five children - born and raised in Dracut, MA. He had a nice childhood, but not an extravagant one. His family vacations consisted of day trips to the beach or weekends in the mountains. In fact, he did not fly in an airplane until he was 16 or travel outside the US until he was 30. Czerlonka chose to study Engineering at the New York Institute of Technology, and learned quickly that it wasnt for him Four years later graduated with a BA in Adversting. What did he took afterwards?!? He spent the better part of the next ten years waiting tables and bartending - four of them at the Navy Pier! The hospitality industry taught Czerlonka a lot about people, connections, service and relationships - all of which are integral to his business today. After his days waiting and bartending, he landed Director level jobs at the likes of The Boston Harbor Hotel, The Ritz Carlton and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, where he got the equivalent of a doctorate degree in Luxury Event Planning, Catering and Superior Customer Service. His path wasn't planned It was indirect. And it was hard at times But in the end, Czerlonka wouldn't change a thing Why does this man have a delusional belief in himself? Find out on 12/17... Donn Young did not start drinking until his Junior year in High School - he was late to the game by many standards... Up until that point in his life, Donn was a quiet, introverted kid He avoided the spotlight and didn't have a lot of friends Although most of the girls liked him; the boys did not... Donn didn't fit in...until he discovered alcohol... It was like a light switch! Why did he get help at 25? Because his parents couldn't afford to lose another child... Mark Nussbaum was one of the founders of Signature Consultants, served as its COO for 20 years and most recently served as the Chief Administrative Officer of Dexian. Currently, Mark serves as a Strategic Advisor. One part visionary, one part anthropologist, one part lawyer, Mark manages to stay a step ahead — in business, strategy, IT staffing, you name it — while remaining utterly present when you talk to him. In all of his roles, Mark heralds the importance of getting to know and understand people. He leads by example. Growth mindset isn’t a buzzword for him. It’s a way of life. And he makes sure the people throughout the organization have the feedback and tools they need to learn, grow and thrive. Mark joined Signature in 2000, following undergrad and law degrees from the University of Michigan, being senior partner at the leading law firm of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, and serving as EVP at premiere medical real estate development firm Rendina Companies. He’s a passionate Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen fan (and a music lover, in general) who isn’t afraid to call on a favorite lyric to drive home his point. Mark calls both Boston and Fort Lauderdale home, but makes his way across the U.S. for speaking engagements about the future of work and the nature of companies. 1:05:54Like many children born into military families, Renee Viens moved a lot when she was a child. After her parents divorced when she was thirteen, Renee stepped up to help her Mom. If something needed to get done - she figured it out. 'I was a little Mom' Renee became an adult an early age; taking on housekeeping duties, meal prep and caring for her younger sister. Renee learned the value of anticipation, risk management and consequential thinking well before she went to college. These same skills still serve her today as an Executive Assistant, Coach and Mentor. 'I've made art form out of living around other people for their convenience,' as a behind the scenes support system, organizer and copilot, which is why she is able to successfully support many talented professionals of all levels as they navigate their careers. 'Executive Assistants put so much into the things that we do - We are our jobs. We are kind of married to our work - The people we support are always in our brain.' Please take the time to listen to Renee's insights on mentorship, coaching and what it is like to be inside the mind of an Executive. She was put here to do this work! https://reneeviens.com/…

1:18:55Welcome to Cut Through the Noise, bringing you the truth behind the headlines in business and current events, Hosted by Dave Turano. Not many people have the courage to walk away from the security of a great job, especially when they love what they do. But that's s exactly what Liam Martin did. After fifteen years in broadcast television; the last four as morning anchor at WBZ Boston; Liam said goodbye to explore a new venture in the private sector. Martin partnered up with Jackie Bruno and Rachel Robbins at Newsmaker Marketing; a Public Relations firm that helps its clients tell their stories through video, social media marketing, and by helping them to get hits on the news! It's been six weeks since he made the announcement and he has no regrets at all! 'What it really boiled down to was my mental health, and wanting to be the husband and dad that I want to be,' is what Liam expressed to me when I asked him why he decided to do this. About a year into working the morning shift, he knew something wasn't right... Getting up at 2:15 AM each day was taking a toll on him...fog-brain, depression, and anxiety had set in, only exacerbating some of the mental health challenges that he had experienced as a child. Thankfully, with the support of his family, friends and regular therapy, he is working to incorporate several routines that have helped him to feel a little better. You can hear what Liam's routines are by subscribing to Cut Through the Noise on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music or YouTube. Hope you enjoy this conversation. I know that I did! 1:06:40Long time friend & fellow Stonehill College grad, Scott Dussault, joined me this week to talk start-ups, technology, people, communication and phony phone calls! Scott has more than two decades of operational and financial leadership experience, and a track record of success in both public and private technology companies. Scott kicked off his career at E&Y and then quickly transitioned into a CFO at companies like Storage Networks, Archivas, Demandware, Nasuni and Workhuman. For the last seven years Scott has advised entrepreneurs and start-ups in the tech sector by leveraging a unique blend of people skills, operational excellence and creativity to get them to the next stage of growth. Scott received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Stonehill College and was presented with the Gold Medal by the Massachusetts Board of Public Accountancy for receiving the highest score in the state in the May 1993 CPA exam. From childhood to present day, Scott has a laundry list of impressive accomplishments, but when all is said and done, he is likely to go down in history as the greatest prank phone caller of all time! This was a fun conversation!…
