Surah Furqan 25 v 43-44 Session 12 Make Use of The Invisible Cloak Have you seen him who takes his passions as a God ? The one who worships his desires is hopeless to teach or guide. The love for a thing makes you blind & deaf. There will be people whose base desires are deeply rooted in them like one bitten by a dog affecting every joint in the body. Of all Gods being worshipped except Allah SWT, the worst is passions which are followed, (it's hard to reason with one like this). The Quarysh worshipped Al Uzza a white stone, if they found a better stone they would discard the other and worship the new stone, Surah 45 v23 was revealed, have you seen him who takes as his low desire as his God (they worshipped their desires). The wise controls his desires and works for life after death. The fool follows his desires and hopes for the best in the hereafter. The illness is selfish desires, oppose them to cure oneself (struggle of the nafs). The nafs is inclined to evil ... Surah 12 v53. The greatest enemy of the self is in between the 2 flanks. The nafs is your worst companion, if you feed & cloth it it will throw you into trouble, yet if you are strict with the nafs it will do you good. The superior path is the one who controls his lower desires. Recite verses to hide from your enemies Surah Al Kahf - The Wide Cave 18 v 57. Surah Nahl 16 v 108 Surah Jathiya 45 v 23 Surah Yasin 36 v1-9 Imam Qortobi is in predicament whilst in Spain and recites these verses. Verse 44 The ailing one who follows his desires is like cattle nor far worse who is astray from the path. A beast can be led by the rider whilst the fool cannot be led. Cattle know what to eat and avoid thorns. The one who rejects the call cannot differentiate between what's harmful. The consumption of the calf led to the love of wealth being poured into their hearts, Surah Al Baqara v 93, 96.
