Why Did Jesus Need to Die?
Manage episode 358804722 series 3441596
Today, we will hear a message from Pastor Aaron Satchwill, preaching on Good Friday at the church he planted up in Roseau, Minnesota. It’s called Immanuel Baptist Church, and it’s closer to Canada than anywhere else.
Pastor Aaron is a good friend of mine that I’ve known since I was a teenager. He was actually my camp counselor when I was in high school. We’ve worked together over the years at camp and through our association of churches, and I’ve always been blessed by his teaching and preaching.
The message we are going to hear today is from Romans 3:23. In it, he explains why Christ had to die. It is through Christ alone that we are saved, and we really need that salvation because as he explained, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We’ve rebelled. We’ve transgressed. We’ve broken the covenant. We’ve fallen short. But Jesus died and rose again on our behalf.
Our podcast is about listening to unfamous pastors, but we want to support these pastors as well. Our church is a biblical counseling training center through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. What does that mean? It means we train pastors and lay people how to counsel and minister to their church and their community using the word. Our training is one of our biggest outreaches, and it’s all about strengthening local churches. If you’d like to support this mission, there’s a link in the show notes where you can give to our biblical counseling ministry.
All the proceeds will go toward training pastors and laypeople to better minister in their local churches.
