This week on #TubtaNabadda, we mark International Women’s Day, celebrated annually around the world on 8 March, and of which the theme for this year is ‘Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress.’ We hear from Sadia Mohamed, a Senior Director at the federal Ministry of Women and Human Rights Development, about the importance of the day and what it means to Somali women. Our second guest is Dr. Safia Siad, the Chancellor of the HANA Academy. With her, we speak about what needs to be done to ensure greater investment in young Somali women and the role of civil society organizations in empowering women in Somalia.
