Just Like Dad (1 John 3:1-10)
Rejoice means to feel or show great joy or delight. This is the idea John wants the Church to express when they understand God’s love toward us.
God’s love is supreme!
The good news is God gifts every person who truly receives Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior with His love and He grants us the privilege of being called children of the Most High God. This is our spiritual adoption. John1:12,13; Romans 8:14-17
The sad news is for the unbeliever. Those in the world who reject Jesus do not know us because they do not know God. They have no eternal hope.
For those of us who have surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we really are the children of God! In our present state of existence we cannot fully grasp what it means to be a child of God.
One day we will stand before Jesus and our spiritual eyes will be opened. We will see the Son in all His magnificent glory, and, at last, we will fully comprehend what it means to be a child of God.
Supernatural hope for Christians is brought into being through the presence of the promised Holy Spirit. While everyone who has this hope confidently placed in Jesus is purified just as He is pure. 1 Peter 3:15-22
Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness. Sin is ignoring God’s law by action or neglect or by tolerating wrongdoing. A sinner is unrestrained by God’s commands and God’s will.
Jesus appeared in visible form as a man in order to take away sins; and in Him there is absolutely no sin for He has neither the sin nature nor has He committed sin or acts worthy of blame. No one who remains united in fellowship with Him deliberately, knowingly, or habitually practices sin.
Righteous people act righteously. Unrighteous people act unrighteously. Jesus appeared to destroy the works of Satan.
Children of God and the children of the devil are clearly known. Your identity is not secret. Who’s your daddy?
