The top story today is: Extended Closure Information Updates
This continues to be a challenging situation that is changing on an almost daily basis. I would like to review some of the changes that have taken effect, through the end of the Shutdown, which has now been extended through Monday, May 4th. If you are struggling to get Wi-Fi connections, please know that families can access the internet in any school parking lot, no password required. It may not be ideal, but it’s available.
- Junior High Jump Start teachers who teach HS credit courses will provide learning opportunities and will assign a Pass/No Credit grade.
- Work provided to students will not be graded, and there will be no dropping off school work during the closure and no collection of work after the closure.
- Special Education services will continue to be delivered to individual students based on the delivery method that works best to meet the needs of the student and family through the teacher(s).
- Parent Conferences have been replaced by the weekly communication with students. Progress reports will be provided, and the expectation for staff is to make weekly contact with each student using the platform that works best for staff and WVJH families.
- Spring Break will be honored April 6-10.
- This information has been added to existing COVID-19 information on the WVSD#208 Website, www.wvsd208.org
We appreciate your flexibility, patience, and understanding. We care deeply about all students, families, and staff and will continue to share information and decisions as promptly as possible.

Scavenger Hunt: Day #4
This week the West Valley School district schools will be doing a scavenger hunt. Each day this week, check WVJH social media for the scavenger hunt clues. Once you know the answer, take a picture with the items and then post those pictures to social media using #RAMDEMIC and @WVJH208. Answers will be revealed on Friday after 3pm.
Today’s clues are as follows:
Clue #1: Hold me light, hold me gentle. When you handle, always be careful. When it’s time to use my insides, tap me hard and crack my outside. Here it comes, the gooey flow. Into the heat, I slowly go.
Clue #2: Don’t frown at me, I made it clear. Won’t make a difference if you’re near. Just stand in front and I’ll show you exactly how the world will see you.
Question of the day: Are you missing sports? Spring sports have been delayed and there’s only re-runs of NBA games from the 90s on TV. We want you to stay active and want to provide you with a venue to showcase your talents. That is why we will be hosting the Ram-o-lymics. Do you have a unique talent or skill? Maybe you can do a sweet backflip on the trampoline...can you can Ollie over your mailbox...you can bunny hop your parents prize roses...you can do a sweet 360 jam on your indoor Nerf basketball hoop. You know you have at least one skill that you can showcase. Perfect that skill over the next week and then capture a video of it. Upload your video to your Google Drive and then share it with me...Ryan DeLozier. You can also share your videos with me through Remind or post your videos to WVJH social media with the hashtag #RAMDEMIC @WVJH208 Stay safe friends!
