Welcome to Story Seeds, new writing to celebrate the areas where we all live, work and play.
Story Seeds is a joint project of Fighting Words, the creative writing organisation, and the Garda Community Engagement Unit with support from Creative Ireland and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.
The Story Seeds project is aimed at not only introducing children and young people to creative writing but also to strengthen their positive sense of themselves and to allow them to re-imagine the negatives in their lives and transform their sense of place and possibility.
In this episode, you will hear students from primary schools and youth groups reading and discussing the stories they wrote as part of the Story Seeds project. Featuring work from O'Connells CBS Primary School, Inchicore National School, Stanhope Street Primary School and Ballybough Youth Service.
You can read more of the work produced during Story Seeds and other Fighting Words projects at https://www.fightingwords.ie/publications.
Enjoy!
