She Wears Work Boots

Christina Murray has demolition in her blood. After graduating from high-school, she started working on sites as a labourer and eventually took on heavy equipment operation and dump-truck driving. Her choice made her the 4th generation of her family to work in Demolition. In 2009 Christina joined Budget Environmental as the Demolition Estimator. Then in early 2022, the entire Budget Group, including Budget Demolition was sold to York1. Since the acquisition, Christina is has become the Director of Business Development for the Infrastructure Division, which includes Demolition, Excavation, Shoring, Construction Services and Telecom. The demolition and civil sectors continue to be some of the most male-dominated and "old-school" in the industry, but Christina navigates them like the native that she is: with comfort, ease, class and positivity. She is a passionate collaborator always working to improve the future of her sector and our industry. In this episode we talk about the myth that you need to be good at everything to be taken seriously, the importance of not being afraid to ask questions, and all the coolest parts of demolition work .
