Our beliefs regarding ministry and ministers, from ‘A Brief Synopsis of the Principles and Testimonies of the Religious Society of Friends’ (1913). Ministry is a gift bestowed by God on whomever He chooses for a given time and place: it is not that the minister speaks but that God speaks through His minister, the intermediary. True Gospel ministry is not a profession nor is it subject to any intellectual standard.
