The Nonsexual Soulmates are back so Kayla can tell part two of her birth story.

Last week Kayla shared her delivery story, from the moment her water broke four weeks early, to her unplanned hospital delivery.

Kailey is back with a question this week: Is the Campari Spritz the new craze for everyone else too?
We don't usually give caveats but this week feels like it might be necessary. This is the story of one mother giving birth at one hospital, at one moment in time. This isn't a put down of nursing staff or medical personnel. In fact, I think if you listen, you will note that our perspective is mostly that great people get stuck in a system that was not created by nurses nor physicians and has focused on profits over patients. We are grateful to access to medical care, because not everyone in this country is able to access it in the same way. We also recognize that thoughtful criticism and inquiry can create improvements. Just because something has been done a certain way forever, does not mean it has to continue on the same path forevermore.

As previously stated, Kayla discusses what happened after Baby K's birth- the afterbirth part of the story, if you will. She points out all the things she was not expecting and reflects on the highs and lows of her recovery experience. If you've been listening, you'll know that she was planning on giving birth at home, but Baby K's early arrival required an unplanned hospital birth because of home birth laws in the Lone Star State. Kayla gives us all a peep into her frustrations with mom and baby medical care. She gives us her point of view on what went well, what could be better, and the things she still doesn't quite understand.

We hope you enjoy this episode and would love to hear your feedback. Do you have a home birth story? Do you have a great hospital birth story or was yours less than stellar? Do you feel like Kailey where you are still reeling from all the things you never realized about childbirth?? Tell us all the details. As always, thanks for listening ya turkeys and we will see you next Tuesday.
