The Great Tribulation Daniel 12
Manage episode 353458363 series 3403940
When the book of Daniel opened, we met a young man, about 17 years old
Now, as Daniel closes, we see a man who is advanced in years and probably around 82 years old
Daniel has dared to stand alone for God in a hostile environment for about 65 years.
He has clearly shown us that a powerful spiritual life does not require ideal conditions in which to thrive and flourish.
Daniel worked a high-end government job when the government wrote rules that attempted to outlaw his faith.
Daniel had access to the “Leader ” of Persia and Babylon.
And, Daniel stood alone for God in the mids of an intimidating environment!
After all, they threw him into a den of lions just for praying!
Daniel teaches us that we can grow into godliness even in the darkest times of our lives and places.
Both Daniel 12 and Revelation 7 are prophecies tied together.
We have these scriptures to give hope to others in Jesus Christ.
The book of Daniel teaches us that we are to be faithful to Christ even in the most difficult times of life. Daniel tells us that God is in control of our world and we find our hope by looking to Him.
Today’s Scripture (Daniel 12:1-4). 1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
It's amazing how we miss cars and planes as running to and fro and the increase of knowledge through the internet
Revelation 7:13-17 13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
