The majority of us have memories of using fountain pens in school, complete with ink smeared palms and smudged writing. This is our first association with the writing implement.
Since then, the most of us at Pen Heaven have probably switched to using ballpoint pens, and we haven't really considered going back. However, as a reaction to the rise of the digital era, there has been a resurgence of interest in the time-honored skill of handwriting as well as the fountain pen.

Since fountain pens are no longer considered to be the normal writing instrument for daily usage, their position has been changed to that of an accessory. The use of a fountain pen in this day and age, when email and texting have taken over as the major means of communication, is an honest declaration that you wish to write the old-fashioned way, in a thoughtful manner. At your place of employment, showing that you take what you are doing seriously sends a message to your coworkers. When signing a treaty, a president will not use a Bic pen; rather, they will use a fountain pen.
