The term codependency was commonly used in the 80s, and it has faded over time. But does that mean that being codependent is gone? How do we even know if we’re being codependent?

Depending on the person and the situation, doing for others what they should do for themselves can be considered codependent. Allowing others to have consequences for their choices and actions is the answer, even if that’s scary.

All our family systems are like mobiles, where the slightest touch can have a major ripple effect. It’s great to learn how to shoot for interdependence instead of continuing to do codependent things!
