Reformation Sunday sermon preached at One Church with 3 congregations combined for the annual remembrance. This sermon focused on the atoning death of Jesus Christ once for all. People are justified, forgiven and accepted by God because Jesus died on their behalf and rose from the dead for our justification. The cross of Jesus where he shed his holy blood was necessary and results in removal of guilt, satisfaction of God's justice, and reconciliation through personal faith by grace in the Lord Jesus the Christ. In the great exchange of redemption Jesus took the sin of his people and bore the punishment due and the Father gives them the righteousness of the Son. His death is finished the atonement complete and those who believe on him have eternal life.
