Episode 87: Liz Allan and Adam Thurman - The Electric Vehicle Repair Revolution.
Liz Allan speaks to Adam Thurman, Managing Director of EV Bodyshops, the trailblazing founder of EV Body Shops - the UK's first body shop dedicated to repairing electric vehicles and a hub for innovation in electric vehicle care. They discuss the intricate web of supply chains, adaptability in the electric vehicle industry, customer satisfaction, and what it takes to create a seamless EV experience. They also delve into practical matters, including the truth behind parts availability and industry fears around repairing EVs and celebrate the importance of building strong, trust-based relationships with customers.
Adam Thurman Bio:
Adam Thurman's career trajectory took a significant turn after he left his initial business to work with various automotive dealer groups. His relationship with a former after-sales director remained strong, and their regular discussions revealed a niche opportunity emerging within the automotive industry. Recognising the rapid rise of electric vehicles and the unpreparedness of body shops to handle the specialised needs of these cars, Adam seized the moment to innovate. Two and a half years ago, amidst the challenges of a post-lockdown world, Adam founded his venture with a flagship site in Enfield, marking the beginning of an ambitious journey. Through dedication and foresight, his business became the UK's first dedicated electric vehicle repair centre, setting a new standard in the industry and sparking a trajectory of growth that would redefine electric vehicle servicing in the region.
