Send us a text What if the unique challenges you face at work could actually be your superpowers? Join us for an eye-opening conversation with Monique, a therapist who recently discovered her own dyslexia. Through her experiences, we unravel the often misunderstood world of neurodivergence in the workplace, exploring the burnout from masking conditions like ADHD and dyslexia, and reframing these traits as sources of strength. Discover how neurodivergent individuals, with their exceptional abilities such as hyper-focus and creative problem-solving, can transform personal and professional landscapes when met with understanding and support. Our journey then shifts towards a spiritual awakening that intertwines faith and neurodiversity. Inspired by stories of biblical giants like Joseph and Moses, we question the notion that success and spirituality cannot coexist. Imagine Moses, possibly neurodivergent, turning perceived weaknesses into monumental strengths aligned with a divine purpose. This perspective not only fosters personal growth but also propels us to start businesses aimed at educating others about neurodiversity, celebrating our differences as platforms for showcasing God's magnificence. Breaking chains of generational cycles and curses? It's possible with faith and understanding. By examining biblical narratives and societal perceptions, we challenge the idea that neurodivergence stems from ancestral misdeeds. Instead, we emphasise recognising generational blessings and the power of environment and behavior in overcoming negative patterns. With stories of healing and redemption, we delve into how faith can guide us through personal responsibility, transforming perceived curses into opportunities for spiritual and personal liberation. Send us a text As a neurodiverse person too, Tumi has experienced the chaos that comes with it, struggling to be organized and often needing assistance from his wife. Tumi's neurodiversity is Dyspraxia, one of the least recognised or understood forms of neurodiversity. Interestingly, Dyspraxia is more prevalent than ADHD and Autism in the UK; however, there are close to 50 times more publications about the latter than the former. Dyspraxia is medically described as Developmental Coordination Disorder. "Dys" means difficulty while "Praxia" means Action. Hence, it means difficulty executing gross or fine motor skills. It also includes struggling with organization, time management, forgetfulness, and sleep. On the other hand, some of the strengths include creativity, empathy, and the ability to speak publicly. Audacity and confidence—how do they shape our personal and professional lives, especially for a dyspraxic man finding love in a world filled with societal expectations? Sarah and her guest unpack this topic with heartfelt anecdotes, from overcoming insecurities to the significant role of empathy and strong friendships. The discussion extends to navigating employment as a neurodivergent person, highlighting the impact of representation, mentorship, and advocacy within the Black neurodiversity community. This episode also touches on the practicalities of daily life challenges and the crucial need for systemic support, providing a comprehensive look into the world of neurodiversity and success. ● Tumi’s website: www.theblackdyspraxic.com ● Connect with Tumi on LinkedIn ( Tumi Sotire ), Twitter ( Tumi Sotire ), and Instagram ( @theblackdyspraxic ) The membership also offers a full diagnostic assessment for neurodiversity from educational psychologists or Medical Doctors closely supported by the British Dyslexia Association and Lexxic. Send us a text Embarking on a journey from eager coder to independent freelancer, our returning guest Oluwaseye lays out the blueprint for navigating the tech world while honouring their neurodiversity. They delve into the nuances of building a thriving client base, crafting a website for an online service business, and balancing freelance work with their unique needs. This episode promises a roadmap for those seeking to marry their personal aspirations with their professional pursuits, all while defying the traditional job hunt in favour of self-sufficiency. There are two points of note in finding a spouse . Firstly, having a relationship with God can be highly beneficial; Oluwaseye had asked God for the kind of spouse he wanted and Sarah was exactly what he prayed for. Secondly, finding a good church is another important aspect. Some churches may not be a good fit as was our guest's experience until Sarah invited him to a more welcoming church. A lot of these shortcomings are simply because of the human flaws of the people running the church. Some of the negatives of autism in Oluwaseye's experience include depression, vulnerability to bad friends, and difficulty being understood. Some of the positives are his marriage, his friendships, and his closeness to God. Finally, we turn the spotlight on the Autistic Black Coders initiative, a testament to the power of community and the importance of mentorship in forging a tech career that aligns with one's true calling. From project management to customer success, the opportunities for neurodiverse individuals in tech are vast and varied. Speechify and Divine Enigma Read smarter, not harder. Send us a text Erin is a digital marketing apprentice working with her mum to create " Neuro Network ", which is a networking platform for neurodivergent business owners. She also created her graphics design business, Ethereal Creative Design . Neuro Network consists of small groups of neurodiverse business owners who connect in a safe familiar space where they can be authentic unlike in a more neurotypical business environment. Erin has always felt different from childhood when she had immense difficulty making friends. She also later noticed she had a very strong reaction to certain sounds like chewing which she discovered was called Misophonia , a condition her mum already had. In addition, she has Misokinesia where repetitive movement is the trigger for the reaction. The reaction can be physically disabling as it impedes the ability to think and may even instigate suicidal thoughts. A very similar occurrence is seen in OCD too. Sarah hopes to have a workshop with Erin for neurodiverse business owners to network. Interested listeners can fill out the form below. Sarah has now launched her membership platform "NeuroEnigma", where neurodiverse people can have a supportive community with resources to manage ADHD or dyslexia. She is also offering a six-week coaching program for neurodivergent and neurotypical professionals who want to improve their career prospects or get into project management and take the PRINCE2 practitioner exam. A one-hour free session which can be booked via Sarah’s email is now available to give clients an idea of what to expect Connect with Erin : Website ( www.neuro-network.co.uk / linktr.ee/etherealcreative ), LinkedIn ( Erin Mather ), Instagram ( @neuro_networking / @ethereallycreative ), Facebook ( Neuro-Network ), Support the show Join, support, and access exclusive episodes now. https://www.buzzsprout.com/2083560/subscribe ( @divineenigma338 ) Instagram ( @divineenigma ) please complete the form before you book ● Join Sarah’s 6-week coaching: https://divineenigma.org/product/6-week-coaching-plan/ Join Today!
