Police said a man shot and killed in North Philadelphia early Friday was in a love triangle gone wrong. “It appears that the current boyfriend, who’s 24 years of age, shot the former boyfriend, who’s our 26-year-old victim,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small, “so we know who we are looking for.” While police know who they’re looking for, Small said they don’t know where he lives. The shooting happened on the sidewalk on Fifth Street, near Glenwood Avenue, around 1 a.m. Small said several people inside a home saw it. The Philadelphia School Board was set to vote on an agreement with the U.S. Justice Department to settle a federal investigation into the district's asbestos management, but the item was pulled from the agenda just before the board's noon meeting Thursday. Board President Reginald Streater said the DOJ was "not ready to proceed" and that the agreement might need further review. Authorities in Delaware County are looking for a prisoner who escaped custody. Workers at the Delaware County Courthouse in Media were notified that an inmate escaped while being transferred from G.W. Hill Correctional Facility to the courthouse.
A South Whitehall Township man was shot and killed by police Wednesday afternoon after confronting officers with a rifle outside his home. The Lehigh County District Attorney's Office says cops were called to the home in the 100 block of North 38th Street around 1 p.m. They were confronted by a 73-year-old man armed with a gun. Police say he refused to drop the rifle. He would not stop approaching the officers, so they fired six shots. He was pronounced dead at the scene.…

Police in Brigantine say a Jersey City couple was arrested after they allegedly went out drinking and left their kids in a house alone. A concerned citizen reportedly flagged down officers and pointed to the home where unsupervised kids were inside. This happened around 8:45 Sunday night on Harbor Beach Boulevard. Police contacted the parents, Felix Rodriguez and Lydia Monterrosa, who said they weren’t at the home with their 1- and 8-year-old children. When they returned, police say both showed signs of impairment. Both were arrested and released with a summons for a later court date.…
