You’ve spent your whole life feeling like something’s wrong with you. Here’s a radical thought: what if you’re not broken - just different? Welcome to Different, Not Broken, the no-filter, emotionally intelligent, occasionally sweary podcast that challenges the idea that we all have to fit inside neat little boxes to be acceptable. Hosted by L2 (aka Lauren Howard), founder of LBee Health, this show dives into the real, raw and ridiculous sides of being neurodivergent, introverted, chronically underestimated - and still completely worthy. Expect deeply honest conversations about identity, autism, ADHD, gender, work, grief, anxiety and everything in between. There’ll be tears, dead dad jokes, side quests, and a whole lot of swearing. Whether you're neurodivergent, neurotypical, or just human and tired of pretending to be someone you’re not, this space is for you. Come for the chaos. Stay for the catharsis. Linger for the dead Dad jokes.

The rise and fall of Glen Ward – the gangster known as ‘Mr Flashy’, has played out in less than a decade. Last week Glen Ward was given a five and a half year sentence while his brother Eric was previously jailed for five years. Because of the threat to his safety, Ward has been held on a 23.5 hour lock-up, while the address of the prison also cannot be published. However, gardaí have no doubt that they have not seen the last of the 32-year-old criminal, who is due to be released from prison while still in his mid-30s. By mid-2016 Glen Ward took the reins of the crime group which became known as the ‘Gucci Gang’ because of their taste for expensive clothing and jewellery. Ward was no exception to this and was given the nickname ‘Mr Flashy’. Host; Fionnán Sheahan, Guest; Robin Schiller See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.…
Spike Island, or "Ireland’s Alcatraz", is a small coastal enclave off the coast of Cobh in Co Cork. Today on the Indo Daily, Ellen Coyne is joined by John Crotty, former general manager of Spike Island and author of the book Spike Island: The Rebels, Residents and Crafty Criminals of Ireland’s Historic Island, to discuss the island’s past and the potential histories yet to be unfurled. Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí feed off creating controversy, but have Kneecap gone too far this time? What started as post-Coachella backlash has snowballed into one of the most explosive rows in the music industry in years. Today, April 30, marks the 15th anniversary of Gerry Ryan’s untimely death aged 53. That Gerry-shaped hole has never quite been filled at RTÉ. At his best, the Dubliner was a broadcaster of the first rank, one who could delight, entertain, inform, infuriate and challenge the listener – often over the course of a single show. But in the end, the life of Gerry Ryan was tragically cut short on his sudden death, which was as hotly debated as any “Ryan Line” phone-in special. Host; Fionnán Sheahan, Guests; John Meagher and Niamh Horan Copy: Today, April 30, marks the 15th anniversary of Gerry Ryan’s untimely death aged 53. That Gerry-shaped hole has never quite been filled at RTÉ. At his best, the Dubliner was a broadcaster of the first rank, one who could delight, entertain, inform, infuriate and challenge the listener – often over the course of a single show. He was an undeniable force of nature in the world of Irish broadcasting. Controversy also didn’t really faze the man, in fact, he made his career off the back of it. His voracious appetite for life, and indeed becoming a major part of the lives of his audience, was quintessential Gerry Ryan, as was his signature rambunctious approach to the microphone. Love or loathe the man, you had an opinion about him. But in the end, the life of Gerry Ryan was tragically cut short, with his sudden death as hotly debated as any “Ryan Line” phone-in special. Today on the Indo Daily, Fionnán Sheahan is joined by Mediahuis Ireland journalists John Meagher and Niamh Horan, to reflect on the days of a true broadcasting legend, his legacy on the Irish airwaves and to remember the days when the Ryan Line was open. The Sallins train robbery was one of the most daring and lucrative heists in the history of the Irish State. And for Osgur Breatnach, a journalist and activist, it was the beginning of an ordeal that haunts him to this day. He was arrested that morning in 1976, as one of six accused of carrying out the robbery. One week before Christmas of the same year, he and his co-accused were brought into the Special Criminal Court and charged with the crime. It would become one of the most dramatic and longest-running criminal trials in the history of the State. In the final episode of this two-part Indo Daily documentary special, Kevin Doyle revisits the Sallins Train Robbery, speaking to Osgur Breathnach about the trial of the ‘sleeping Judge’, living with PTSD, and why he feels a public inquiry is justified for he and his co-accused.
