×In this profound final message in the "Jesus the Healer" series, Darrell Johnson invites us to step back and grapple with one of life’s deepest questions: Why, if Jesus the Healer has come, do we and so many others still suffer? Drawing on the Apostle Paul’s life and teaching, Darrell offers a biblical framework for understanding suffering that avoids simplistic answers. He explores fourteen layered perspectives that help us navigate suffering within the comforting assurance that God is always present, always at work, and always able to handle our questions. This message brings both theological depth and pastoral hope for those wrestling with life’s most painful realities. In the sixth message of our “Jesus the Healer” series, Darrell Johnson takes us to the shores of the Sea of Galilee where the risen Jesus meets Peter, not to condemn him, but to heal him. Preaching from John 21:1-19, Darrell shows us how Jesus comes to heal the whole person: physically, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. In this tender encounter, Jesus frees Peter from the guilt and shame of his past, giving him a new beginning and a fresh calling. Darrell invites us to reflect on our own places of stuckness, our own charcoal fires, and to hear Jesus’ invitation to healing and freedom. In this fifth message of Jesus the Healer , Darrell Johnson explores one of the more peculiar instructions Jesus gives: “See that no one knows about this,” immediately after healing two blind men. What kind of evangelism strategy is that? With pastoral clarity and biblical depth, Darrell reveals the mystery of the kingdom: already and not yet. He walks through Jesus’ actions, Matthew’s intentional language, and the persistence of two men who could not see but truly saw . The invitation? Cry out in faith. Call Him Lord. And even when prayers seem unanswered, just keep following Him home . In this fourth message from the series Jesus the Healer , Darrell Johnson guides us through one of the most tender and powerful moments in the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 9:18-26). In the midst of the valley of the shadow of death, two very different people—a grieving father and a chronically ill woman—reach out to Jesus. What happens next reveals the heart of Jesus Christ: his compassion and his authority. Through this encounter, Darrell helps us see how faith is formed in the crucible of suffering, and how Jesus always responds to faith, even if it comes hesitantly or late. "Faith in the Valley" is a call to bring our brokenness to Jesus and discover that even the words “incurable” and “dead” are not the last word when He is near. In this powerful episode, Darrell Johnson takes us into one of the most dramatic stories of Jesus' ministry: the stilling of the storm and the freeing of two demonized men in the region of the Gadarenes. Drawing from Matthew 8, Darrell emphasizes one unshakable truth: Jesus Christ has authority over every force that seeks to undo us. Through Scripture, theological reflection, and a gripping personal story of spiritual deliverance, this message reminds us that “one little word shall fell him.” Jesus still speaks, still sets captives free, and has entrusted His church with that same authority. The second message in the series Jesus the Healer , Darrell walks us through a moment in Matthew’s Gospel when Jesus heals Simon Peter’s mother-in-law. But the healing is not just about her fever — it’s about Jesus fulfilling the ancient words of Isaiah: “He himself took our infirmities and carried our diseases.” Darrell explores what it means that Jesus not only takes sickness seriously but actually takes it into himself, ultimately carrying it to the cross. This message unpacks the layered mystery of Isaiah 53, Jesus’ compassionate touch, and the holistic healing work of the Kingdom of God breaking into our world. In this series, Jesus the Healer , Darrell Johnson explores moments when Jesus steps into human brokenness and brings the healing power of the Kingdom of God. Whether touching a leper, restoring sight, or responding to desperate cries, Jesus reveals both His authority and compassion. These messages invite us to bring our own wounds to Him—the One who is still willing and able to heal. Teaching from Matthew 8:1–4, the first message is titled If You Are Willing. Darrell invites us to behold a moment of shocking grace and transforming power as he walks us into the valley where Jesus, fresh off the Sermon on the Mount, meets a man ravaged by leprosy. With profound compassion and unquestionable authority, Jesus reaches out, touches the untouchable, and declares, “I am willing. Be clean.” Darrell unpacks what this act tells us about the Kingdom of God, the nature of Jesus, and what healing looks like for us today—body, soul, and society. This message calls us to trust, to hope, and to bring our brokenness boldly before Jesus, knowing that He is both willing and able. In this Easter Sunday message, Darrell Johnson leads us into the heart of the Gospel: resurrection. Preaching from 1 Corinthians 15, Darrell declares the staggering truth that Jesus Christ has been raised—never to die again. Through personal reflection and pastoral depth, Darrell explores what it means for Jesus to be the “first fruits” of the new creation, and why death no longer has the final word. This message is both a trumpet of hope and a call to fearless living. “O death, where is your victory?” Because of Jesus, it’s nowhere to be found. Darrell reflects the transformative power of Jesus Christ, as experienced by the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus. He begins with a personal reflection on his summer, including the passing of his mother and the privilege of preaching at her memorial service. This serves as a backdrop to the main theme: the life-changing encounter with Jesus, leading to eternal life. The sermon highlights five key truths that Paul learned from his encounter: Jesus is alive, Jesus is Lord, Jesus and his followers are inseparably bound, God’s grace, and Jesus' pre-existing hold on Saul. Darrell emphasizes the importance of recognizing and surrendering to Jesus' lordship and grace, urging us to allow the light of Jesus to shine in our lives and transform us. In this powerful sermon, Darrell Johnson unpacks the heart of God as revealed in Exodus 3:7-8: a God who sees, hears, and feels the suffering of His people—and who comes down to deliver them. Darrell weaves this ancient truth into the fabric of our world today, addressing pain, injustice, and reconciliation, particularly in light of Canada’s history with Indigenous peoples. He calls listeners to see God’s heart for justice and healing and invites them to respond to the God who draws near. Darrell addresses the question: Are spiritual gifts still relevant today? Drawing from 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, he affirms that the gifts of the Spirit continue to operate. While some argue that these gifts were only for the early church, Darrell asserts that the Holy Spirit still empowers believers today. He explores Jesus’ ministry of preaching, teaching, and healing, emphasizing that the same Spirit that worked through Jesus is still living and active in the church. Darrell also shares personal testimonies of healing and encourages believers to embrace the Spirit’s gifts, despite potential misunderstandings or abuses, as essential to kingdom ministry. Week 9 | Who is Jesus? | The Stronger Man Freedom from fear of death. The ability to plunder the gates of hell and save souls for God’s Kingdom. These are what Jesus says we as believers have, because of who he is. But how do we know this is true? Continuing in his series “Who is Jesus?”, Darrell focuses on Mark 3 where Jesus establishes himself to be stronger than the one who causes pain and suffering in this world, whom Jesus has now bound. Darrell first highlights the importance of having an accurate worldview to view this claim- one that includes not just the natural world but the supernatural as well. Then, he talks about Jesus’ discernment of causes of, and remedies to, suffering. Finally, as believers, we hear what this means for our assurance of eternal life, and our ability to carry out Jesus’ mission of spreading the word of his salvation.
