In this episode, we share a short reflection on the Hail Mary prayer with reference to a leaflet on the power of the Hail Mary published by Ave Maria publications 1954. This little leaflet shares beautiful nuggets of wisdom on the beauty of the prayer, its deeper meaning and where the words of the Hail Mary prayer are inspired from - namely Scripture. It emphasises the powerful intercession of Mary, a woman who is most revered of all women, as the Mother of God and the Mother of the Church. In this episode we look at the Miraculous Medal, a story that has many interweaving threads and contributes many examples of the providence of God and the closeness of our Blessed Mother Mary. The Miraculous Medal was a revelation of Our Lady to a young sister called Catherine Laboure, later to be declared a saint. St Catherine was born in 1806, France and in the year 1830 she joined the sisters of the Daughters of Charity which had been founded by St Vincent de Paul. Just a few months later after she entered the congregation, St Catherine received two apparitions of Our Lady. It was in the second apparition of 27th November, 1830 that Our Lady revealed her wishes to have a medal struck according to the image that she conveyed to Catherine. She promised that anyone who would wear this medal would 'receive great graces'. The Miraculous Medal became known as 'miraculous' due to the countless miracles attributed to it. In this episode, we look at the story of Our Lady of Lourdes and St Bernadette. In 1858, Our Lady appeared to a young girl called Bernadette Soubirous, at the grotto near to Lourdes, at Massabielle. Bernadette came from a humble family who were familiar with poverty but her interior life proved to be a rich source of blessing not only reserved for herself, as a result of her encounter at the grotto, but for many people of all generations. We look at how the story of Lourdes reminds us of the closeness of our Mother, Mary and her desire to enter all areas of our lives. Today, Lourdes is a world-renowned sanctuary and haven for pilgrims young and old; where many miracles have been recorded, in this little town nestled beneath the Pyrenees mountains. In this episode, we look at the meaning of Easter and its subsequent meaning and impact for all of humanity. The life, death and resurrection of Jesus reveal God's plan for humanity, one that is not confined to one place or time. The hope and glory of the resurrection is the focal point of our Christian faith, and a revelation of a God who is a God of life and light. We look at how God is still revealing this to us now. The Eucharist as the essence of life itself. The Light overcomes the darkness. 'I am the light of the world' John 8:12. 'Light makes life possible. It makes encounter possible. It makes communication possible. It makes knowledge, access to reality and to truth, possible.' My Soul Delights - An Invitation to Journey Together in our Catholic Faith No Matter where You are in the Journey.

In this episode, we look at what it means to be a child of God and the gift of wonder, an innate gift that keeps us moving in our search for more. The promise of God's protection is something reassuring and affirming, this is particularly evident in Psalm 91 and Psalm 121. The life of Mother Teresa or St Teresa of Calcutta is an inspiring witness as to what it means to be a child of God and trusting in God's providence. 'The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forever more.' Psalm 121 'I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world.' 'Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your weakness.' In this episode we take a look at the theme of joy and happiness. Is there a difference between the two? How can we attain true joy amidst temporal, earthly things? We take a look at some modern examples and understanding (the paradox of choice); the happiness test by an anthropologist and the understanding from our faith perspective. Joy is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit and there are many examples in the lives of various saints! 'The Lord your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory. He will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with singing.' My Soul Delights - An Invitation to Journey Together in our Catholic Faith No Matter where You are in the Journey.

In this episode, we discuss the season of Advent, its rich heritage and meaning within the Church's liturgical year and how we can make this a fruitful time. The word 'Advent' is the Latin word for 'coming' or 'arrival'. It is a word that denotes expectation and hope for us as Christians. In the season of Advent, there is a rich Catholic tradition of using the colour purple for liturgical celebrations, along with the Advent wreath and candles which all reveal something about the nature of the season and deeper Christian truths. The whole faith journey is a journey of preparation, and Advent reveals this in a special way. The saints, as ordinary human people, understood personal human struggle and weakness but they also understood the greater presence of God's love. They reveal to us the innate capacity for God within us, and God's invitation to every human person to go deeper in their relationship with Him. Looking at the lives of the saints is like gazing through a magnifying glass that shows us the closeness of eternity.
