This Is Woman's Work with Nicole Kalil

We’ve turned intuition into a buzzword—flattened it into a slogan, a gut feeling, or a vague whisper we don’t always know how to hear. But what if intuition is so much more? What if it's one of the most powerful tools we have—and we’ve just forgotten how to use it? In this episode, I’m joined by Hrund Gunnsteinsdóttir , Icelandic thought leader, filmmaker, and author of InnSæi: Icelandic Wisdom for Turbulent Times . Hrund has spent over 20 years studying and teaching the science and art of intuition through her TED Talk, Netflix documentary (InnSæi: The Power of Intuition), and global work on leadership, innovation, and inner knowing. Together, we explore what intuition really is (hint: not woo-woo), how to cultivate it in a culture obsessed with logic and overthinking, and why your ability to listen to yourself might be the most essential skill you can develop. In This Episode, We Cover: ✅ Why we’ve misunderstood intuition—and how to reclaim it ✅ Practical ways to strengthen your intuitive muscle ✅ What Icelandic wisdom teaches us about inner knowing ✅ How to use intuition during uncertainty and decision-making ✅ Why trusting yourself is an act of rebellion (and power) Intuition isn’t magic—it’s a deep, internal guidance system that already exists inside you. The question is: are you listening? ×The girls join us again as we continue the discussion of our family's journey. Please excuse the audio, as we are still trying to work out the details of recording four people, but this was just too good not to post!
After 6 weeks at physical therapy Jodi loads Jeremy up and heads home, and the Powell's struggle to adjust to the new normal.
Today it has been 4 years since Jeremy got his new bone marrow. This week on the podcast, Jeremy and Jodi recount the darkness that began to creep in over our family as the realities of my long term prognosis began to sink in for everyone.
Jeremy gets his new bone marrow and the race to keep him alive begins.
A tough decision, a final goodbye, and the gravity of Good Friday in this week's recap of the events leading to Jeremy's ultimate healing.
Middle school is tough enough, but at 15 and 12 years of age, Emma and AJ also had to process a father that was dying, a mother that was doing her best to hold it all together, and the uncertainty of not knowing what tomorrow holds. Listen to the Powell girls discuss the good and bad of processing the trauma, and what they would recommend to others experiencing similar circumstances.…
Jodi is faced with hard decisions, Jeremy gains a half-inch in height, and they both get to fly private for the first time... just not like they had hoped.
Finally admitted to the NIH, Jeremy begins having intense hallucinations involving gun battles in the hallway and a human trafficking ring that was targeting Jodi.
As Jeremy tries to push through the illness, his symptoms just get worse. Jodi pushes to get the National Institutes of Health involved. Jeremy pushes back. There may still be a little tension...
An "act normal" mentality, COVID-19 pandemic, and memories of a past infection pushed the Powell family right to the edge before they finally got the diagnosis. A diagnosis that would change their lives forever.
The Power of Community: We weren't meant to do this alone. It is true you become like the people you hang out with. How good Christian community helped make us who we are, and continues to develop us into the men and women God desires us to be. If you want help finding community reach out to your local church or email us at thejeremypowell@gmail.com or jgap20@gmail.com If you would like to join on of our pastor family cadres, follow us and plug in ASAP!…
Jeremy and Jodi discuss a mentality that is born in all of us: the desire to portray ourselves as something other than we are in order to keep people from thinking otherwise. It took a fever of 108 degrees and a near death experience to literally burn this mentality out of our heads.
Join Jeremy and Jodi as they embark on their next wave of podcasts dispensing hope to a world that desperately needs it!

OK, I know this one is a little long, but Dan and Julie are outright inspirations. From growing up a rebellious Church of Christ pastors kid to planting a church in NW Tennessee, ministering to the "least of these," and a little bit of everything in between Dan and Julie have experienced the ups and downs of trying to do ministry the right way. Add to this fact that she's an Auburn Tiger fan and he's a Bammer (which sounds familiar), and you'll be blessed if you take some time to hear their story!…

We are all wired to communicate differently. It has taken us 18 years and counting to figure it out in our marriage. Have some fun with Jeremy and Jodi as they talk about listening between the lines.
Making friends can be hard no matter who you are, but add the pressures of full-time ministry and the struggle can be overwhelming. If you've ever wondered who your pastor is hanging out with, more than likely the answer is "no one."
They are the butt of everyone's jokes: Pastor's Kids. PKs. But what does it feel like going through life as one? In this episode, Jeremy and Jodi take some time to talk to their two children, Emma and Abigail so they can fill us in on what they have to deal with on a regular basis... just because of who their parents are. This is a MUCH needed and LONG overdue conversation that you will NOT want to miss.…
When you pray that God will use your family to impact this nation for His Kingdom you don't get to dictate the circumstances. Listen as Jeremy and Jodi recount a fever, and what God taught them about community, trust, and following Him no matter what.
The story that had to be told. How a rough start turned into an amazing friendship and a remarkable love story. Maybe there is a benefit to marrying your best friend.
Ever wonder what it's like to sit in worship every week listening to your spouse talk about what the Bible says about marriage.... and then have to go home with him?
Parenting in a fishbowl is hard for anyone-- it seems like everyone has advice, a verse to back it up, and a smug look when they disapprove with your choices. Listen to Jeremy and Jodi talk about clumsily navigating the fishbowl inside of the local church.
How easy is it to lose yourself in what you do? In this episode Jeremy and Jodi discuss how for pastor's families, it's a lot easier than you think.
