Steve Preston is the CEO of Goodwill Industries. Though Goodwill is known for big stores where people can donate clothes and buy them secondhand, those stores are just the first level of what Goodwill Industries are about. Those stores fund an international organization that provides job training, employment placement services and other community-based programs for people who face barriers in their employment. Steve joins Jay to discuss the ways Goodwill Industries support veterans and individuals who lack job experience, an education, or face employment challenges, such as those people who are formerly incarcerated. Hello Friend - A Mr. Robot Podcast

This is the end, beautiful friend This is the end, my only friend The end of our elaborate plans The end of ev'rything that stands The end
The enduring theme of heroes and villains comes home to roost in this latest episode of Mr. Robot, called "eXit." As Elliot comes closer to discovering the truth, things start to unravel pretty quickly.
Here's our long-awaited podcast review and recap of Mr. Robot Season 4 Episode 10. Enjoy!
Hello, Friends! fsociety made another appearance in this thrilling episode of Mr. Robot. Whiterose has lost her usual edge and is now on the defensive after unlikely characters went in together on the plan to overthrow the top 1% of the 1%. Lots of twists and turns! Hope you enjoy. Feel free to write us at hellofriendpod@protonmail.com if you have any feedback on the show or on our podcast.…
Hello, Friend! We're discussing all things Mr. Robot Season 4 Episode 8 -- "Request Timeout" -- and this one was extremely fun to watch as we were taken back to 1995 and then to the present day to see how Dominique, Darlene, Elliot, and Krista are dealing with the fateful blows they've been dealt by the Dark Army. Elliot continues to grapple with the things he discovered about his past with Krista, fortunately, by his side. Janice -- the most banal of evildoers -- tries her taxidermy skills on a few of our favorite characters. Who knows how things will turn out in a final season that almost entirely takes place during Christmas. As always, if you have feedback or questions, please get in touch at hellofriendpod [at] proton mail.com. We'll chat soon!…

Hello Friend - A Mr. Robot Podcast

This is our review of Season 4, Episode 7 of Mr. Robot. A lot of interior shots, monologuing and dramatic moments among Mr. Robot, Elliot, Vera and Krista. Dominque and Darlene must be hanging out at the Shake Shack waiting for their turn in the story, hopefully next week. No hacking this week. Maybe next week? Will we ever find out what Whiterose is shipping?…
Hello, friend! I want to tell you a story. Nah -- just kidding. We'll leave the storytelling to Vera. If you're here that means you probably want to listen to our podcast recap of "406 Not Acceptable" -- the sixth episode of the final season of Mr. Robot. What can we say about this momentous episode? Not all monsters are into the hacker way and wear hoodies but Elliot sure counts among them. Please listen, rate and review. Most of all, we hope you enjoy this latest installment of our humble podcast.…
At long last, we're ready to share with you our recap and review of "405 Method Not Allowed" -- the fifth episode of the final season of Mr. Robot. If silence is golden, this episode was solid gold -- there were only two lines spoken in the entire show tonight. While Phillip Price is sent on a cat and mouse game by Whiterose, Darlene and Elliot pull off the biggest series of hacks that we've seen strung together in succession. What is Vera up to we want to know. More importantly, where did Vera find that fabulous coat? Send your feedback and comments to hellofriendpod@protonmail.com. Be seeing you!…
Hello, Friend! If episode 4 of the final season of Mr. Robot taught us anything -- it's that if you think your holiday is going really bad there's always someone else who is having a worse time of it. This episode contained many fairytale like qualities and our heroes in the show seemed more lost and disadvantaged than ever in terms of vanquishing the Dark Army and finding their way. Not even Tobias the drunk Santa can lift our spirits -- death and uncertainty are in the air. It's all of question of who can hang in there long enough to confound the efforts of the Deus Group and save the world as we know it -- spotty internet connections be darned. If you have feedback on the show or our podcast, please get in touch at hellofriendpod@protonmail.com. Thanks for listening and we'll all talk soon.…
As Whiterose might say -- you're just in time for our recap and review of this latest episode of Mr. Robot. We're just a few weeks away from this series finale. In this episode, we were treated to a ton of exposition and the perils and pleasures of online dating on Christmas Eve. We learned part of what drives Whiterose and that we ought to never trust Fernando Vera around chickens or around anyone for that matter. Please have a listen and feel free to get in touch at hellofriendpod@protonmaill.com to send feedback about Mr. Robot or the podcast. We'll be seeing you!…
RE-UPLOADED - FULL-LENGTH -------------------------------------- Well, hello there, friend! We're back for our review of Mr. Robot S4E2, called "402 Payment Required." What did you think of this latest installment of the final season of the series? Did you find there were more questions than answers -- or are you starting to see where things are heading? We learned some new information regarding the nature of the so-called "invisible hand" controlling the world stage. We also learned that, as always, the true nature of who and what Elliot is seems difficult to determine. Darlene, Dominique, Phillip Price all appear to be playing their own roles in reference either helping or hindering the Dark Army -- or a smattering of both. Even Frosty the Snowman made an appearance. Janice is the creepiest taxidermist around, and that's saying something. Please listen, rate and review this podcast. Please feel free to write us at hellofriendpod@protonmail.com if you have any feedback on the series or the podcast.…
Greetings and salutations! It's been a while. We sure have missed you. Join us, your fearless co-hosts, as we recap the happenings and goings on in "401 Unauthorized" -- the season 4 premiere of Mr. Robot. This is the final season and the general consensus is that episode 1 of season 4 had a distinctly different feel in comparison to previous seasons. One thing is for certain: this first episode set the chess pieces for the rest of the series. We encounter many familiar faces, Elliot, Angela, Darlene, Mr. Robot, White Rose, and that every-so annoying Phillip Price. There were also a few surprising appearances, too, whether you're talking about Emmy Rossum as one of the carolers, Jake Busey as the slimy Freddie Lomax, and show creator Sam Esmail himself as a thug intent on scaring the heck out of Elliot (and us). All good stuff. Please listen to our podcast and let us know what you think about the show: hellofriendpod [at] protonmail [dot] com.…
Helllllllllo, Friends! As 2018 quickly becomes a distant, dystopian memory and we hurtle into 2019, we thought it would be fun to drop this bonus episode of the Hello Friend Mr. Robot podcast. The theme of this podcast is “Zeitgeist review” — Henry and I took a deep dive around some of the themes found in Season 3 of Mr. Robot and how they relate to current events and society in general. We will drop at least one more episode as we head into Season 4, which is probably going to be its final season, premiering some time in 2019. If you have any feedback on the show or on the podcast, please contact us at thehellofriendpodcast@gmail.com. This may be no Bohemian Rhapsody but we still hope you enjoy this episode. Thanks for listening!…
Hello, friend! Just when you thought it was safe to go outside, it’s time for another podcast review of Mr. Robot, Season 3 episode 9. We’re so close to the end of this season and we’ve seen Elliot make some bold moves against the Dark Army in an attempt to right what went wrong. White Rose gets some honesty from her assistant and apparent paramour Grant. Now that Tyrell is the new E-Corp CTO, does that mean he’s poised to take over the whole corporation eventually? What does the book Lolita have to do with this story and will Angela ever recover?…
Hello friend, it’s time for popcorn-filled podcast recap of Mr. Robot. This time your fearless co-hosts are here to discuss the 8th installment of season three of this incredibly prescient series. This whole episode is about deletion — deletion of files but also of oneself and things that are unpleasant to us. Imagine if that was possible in real life! If you have a comment or question, please feel free to email us at thehellofriendpodcast [at] gmail [dot] com. No cosplayers were harmed in the recording of this episode!…
Hello, Friend! Just when you think you can escape the dystopian reality that is 2017, you realize another new episode of Mr. Robot has dropped and you are once again watching an excellent show — but at the same time, you wonder if this episode might be harkening to a near-future reality. We see some familiar faces as this compelling and yet bleak episode came to a crashing end. Is Irving right? Are all revolutions manufactured to take our attention away from larger world events we have little insight into and ability to control? One thing is for sure, Fredrick and Tanya will never find out either way. If you like what you hear, please subscribe, rate or review – and feel free to contact us at thehellofriendpodcast [at] gmail [dot] com. (Who is fsociety?)…
Hello, friend. It’s Back to the Future over and over and over again as the sixth episode of this third season of Mr. Robot starts with a dramatic flashback and ends with a bang, well 71 of them. Sometimes the best laid plans all go awry. It doesn’t matter how much Elliot tries, success as well as happiness seem fleeting for him. If you like what you hear, consider subscribing, rating and reviewing. Time for an “Enchantment Under the Sea Dance” as we slip into podcastland.…
Hello, Friend! Do you find it hard to believe that we are already at episode 5 for the third season of Mr. Robot? This episode, called “eps3.4_runtime-err0r.r00”, played as a continuous one-shot. However, as in real life, variable — so many confounding variables — got in the way to challenge Elliot’s plan to roll back the damage he’s done by shutting down the Dark Army plan to implement Phase 2. This all sounds confusing but not when you have big brains like Mr. Robot, Elliot, Tyrell, White Rose, Philip Price, Angela and Darlene all working in one way or another to advance various competing and sometimes overlapping interests. If you like what you hear, please think about rating and reviewing this episode. Thank you!…
Hello, friend! Welcome to our long-awaited podcast review of Mr. Robot, Season 3 Ep 4 – called eps3.3_m3tadatapar2. If metadata is the story behind the data — then this podcast is the story behind this latest episode of our favorite dystopian drama. In spite of this shady logic, the podcast is great so give us a listen. Please subscribe, rate and review the podcast if you like it — and write us at thehellofriendpodcast@gmail.com. Remember, if you want good ribs — head on over to the Red Wheelbarrow BBQ. Ribs for breakfast, ribs for lunch! Ribs all the time — just in time for part 2 of the 5/9. Grab a cozy seat — your favorite comfy chair or place of peace — and pour yourself a nice hot cup of tea and join us, your fearless co-hosts, for our review of Season 3 Episode 3 of Mr. Robot, ever so cryptically entitled “Eps3.2legacy.so” We saw a lot of Irving — the master engineer but not the ultimate puller of strings: He’s simply effective, efficient and understands his contribution to the nefarious value chain of the White Rose-led Dark Army. On the tech front, we talk about data sets, analytics, AI and how data about us and our lives can be used to manipulate us, our technology and even society as a whole! Send your feedback and comments to thehellofriendpodcast@gmail.com . Please rate and review us if you have time and subscribe if you want automatic episode updates. Thanks again and, as always, “Hello, Friend!”…
What if we had the ability to undo things we’ve done in our lives? The power to go back and fix things that went horribly wrong might be something we all wish we had from time-to-time. In Elliot’s case, at least as far as he sees it, he’s burdened with having to try to undo a hack so effective that it brought down the world economy. He even goes so far as to take a job at E-Corp. Almost in tandem with the hack that Elliot made happen — the 5/9 hack — we have a scenario where China and the United States are lockstep in a battle of sorts over what will now become the dominant currency. They’re not talking about dollars or yen — the currencies at loggerheads with worldwide stakes are cryptocurrencies, namely E-Corp E-Coin and the very real-world BitCoin. China is backing BitCoin in this dystopian society and E-Corp is having none of that. So hang on to your CHS ( confidential human source) if you have one and join us for an exciting discussion and lively recap of Season 3, Episode 2 of Mr. Robot, called eps3.1_undo.gz – s3e2.…
A bonus episode in anticipation of our full review of eps3.1_undo.gz – s3e2 — Season 3, Episode 2 of Mr. Robot.
Faster than a red wheelbarrow on fire, careening down a steep hill — the new season of Mr. Robot started off at a frenetic, red-hot pace and did not slow down the entire time. The series got off to a fast start with the introduction of of a retro-style “Fixer” named Irving (part Columbo , part Harry Tuttle ) who seems to be in the employ of the Dark Army and pretty handy with hacking as well as social hacking. Elliot was definitely shot by Tyrell (who is very upset about that fact) and so we see these characters from an all-new perspective. Same goes for Angela, Darlene and Mr. Robot — we get to see all of them in a different light. For podcast co-host Henry, the episode had a lot do do with the sensation of “a pophenia” — a word that describes humans’ tendency to try to make order out of unrelated thoughts or concepts. As Irving says, “When we lose our principles, we invite chaos.” Here’s hoping we lost nothing in delivering this review to you of what we both agreed was a fantastic season premiere.…

1 Season 3 Preview + Review of Red Wheelbarrow: (eps1.91_redwheelbarr0w.txt) | Mr. Robot Podcast 46:15
This is our review of the Mr. Robot “Red Wheelbarrow” book. We start going down a a lot of proverbial rabbit holes as we discuss the Red Wheelbarrow book issued by the creators of Mr. Robot. The book is important for understanding Season 2 as well as Season 3 of the series. We’re finally ready to share our recap of episode 11 of season 2 of Mr. Robot. As Tyrell says “The Dark Army told me that Stage 2 is ready. When you see it, you’ll be pleased. It worked, Elliot. It’s up to us now. Let me show you.” Listen here for our recap of this pretty mesmerizing episode. Hello Friend - A Mr. Robot Podcast

Hello, Friend. Welcome to our review of episode 10 of season 2 of Mr. Robot . Phillip Price played his part as the evil villain: “I always asked the question, ‘Am I the most powerful person in the room?’ The answer needed to be yes. To this day I still ask that question. And the answer is still yes. In every room in the entire world, the answer is yes. With the exception of one…or two. And that drives me. I intend to leave a legacy, the standard of which was set by God when he created the Earth and man after his own image. Anything less is not worth mentioning.” Don’t wait around letting other people beat you to it: Listen to our Mr. Robot podcast and please subscribe, rate and review.…

Hello Friend - A Mr. Robot Podcast

Hello, Friend — Ready for a recap of episode 9 of season 2 (“eps2.7_init_5.fve”) of Mr. Robot? This is no time to be eating gyros — it’s time for the H3ll0 Fr1end podcast. We give all the low-down involving Elliot, Dom, Angela, Whiterose — even Cisco, who is lucky to be alive after his encounter with Darlene last we saw him. There were so many cool and creepy elements, plus a great soundtrack as usual. Still can’t see the big picture — what’s motivating Price — and maybe that’s a good thing. Keeps it all so very suspenseful. So what are you waiting for? Listen to our Mr. Robot podcast and please subscribe, rate and review.…

Hello Friend - A Mr. Robot Podcast

Beware when Darlene is on your case. That will only work out well for her. Cisco, Susan Jacobs, Angela, Mobley, Trenton and even Elliot have learned that. Is she a force for good or something more nebulous than that? Hello, Friend — in episode 8 of season 2 (“eps2.6_succ3ss0r.p12”) of Mr. Robot, we don’t get to see Elliot. Instead, we get to see what happens to #fsociety when you have a bloodhound like Dom DiPierro on your scent. Major lesson learned? Never use your DJ name for your hacker name. Sheesh. This is no malicious browser benchmark trick — it’s the H3ll0 Fr1end podcast! Listen to our Mr. Robot podcast and please subscribe, rate and review.…

Hello Friend - A Mr. Robot Podcast

Hello, Friend! In episode 7 of season 2 (“eps2.4_m4ster-s1ave.aes”), we see Ray and Elliot play a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Joanna may need to rethink her penchant for wearing white. Angela keeps rocking those fake eyelashes. Darlene remains determined. Mr. Robot and Elliot find an uneasy alliance. If you’re ever in a bind, here’s hoping we all have a friend like Leon to stay by our side: “You’re gonna get a letter on Tuesday. Do what it says. Yo man, when you see Whiterose, make sure you say I did you good. I’ll be rooting for you, cuz. Always.” Listen to our Mr. Robot podcast and please subscribe, rate and review. Hello Friend - A Mr. Robot Podcast

In an explosive episode all about masters and slaves — you know, typical slang for computer equipment — we got to see how Angela and Darlene attempt to carry out their plan to hack the FBI — with a little help from Mobley and Trenton. In episode 6 of season 2 (“eps2.4_m4ster-s1ave.aes”), we see Elliot finally embrace the idea that Mr. Robot is somehow there to protect him. We saw some amazing guest appearances, such as Alf and get a strong sense of how Elliot sees his mother — not the greatest. One thing is for sure: Maxine the dog won’t need to stick around to deal with Ray and his nefarious dealings. Lots of Simpsons references in this episode. Alas, poor Gideon, even in death he can’t get respect. Please listen, rate, review and subscribe to our podcast if you like what you here.…
