Natural Motherhood
Natural motherhood means to be an advocate for you and your family. Start by learning what we can, trusting your gut and cutting out the things that are not good for us.
It Starts at Home
We are the gatekeepers of our homes. It is up to us to educate ourselves on what we are using and allowing to cross that threshold. Do your research and then ditch & switch. Start with the areas that are most important to you- laundry, cleaners, personal care, etc.
In the Beginning
Maybe it is baby #1 or baby #9, motherhood can be emotional. Supporting your emotions is key.
Preparing the go bag for the hospital, be sure to have these:
- Lavender
- Peace & Calming
- Peppermint
- Joy & White Angelica
- Panaway & Black Pepper
- Popcycle pads
- DIY Peri Spray or Claraderm
Safety & Dilution
Always trust your gut. You have mama instincts for a reason. General dilution rules for ages 0-1 years is ⅛ dilution and ages 2-6 years ¼. Remember do your research and be your own advocate. Check out Debra Rayburns Gentle Babies book for amazing information.
Sleep is Essential
You may not get a lot of sleep in the beginning but setting up a routine can be a huge help. Do what works for you and stick to it!
A Million Ways
There are so many ways to make motherhood natural and easy. Being consistent with these will help the entire process to become second nature.
Take Care of You
Number one thing when becoming a mom is that even though your family is your priority it is vital to take time for you. This could be reading a book, taking a shower, going for a walk or reading the Bible. Whatever it may be, do it! Take 5 minutes or 30 minutes but be sure to fill your cup.
What steps will you take to making your motherhood more natural?
As always be grateful & have faith.
God Bless!
