Alexandra Pelosi is an acclaimed filmmaker who has produced and directed 15 HBO documentary films. Her career began at NBC News, where she spent a decade as a field producer. In 2000, Pelosi was assigned to cover George W. Bush’s presidential campaign, which led to her breakthrough HBO documentary, “Journeys with George.” The film earned her an Emmy Award and launched her career as a documentary filmmaker, offering a candid look at future President George W. Bush on the campaign trail.
Over the past two decades, Pelosi has crafted a series of thought-provoking films for HBO, exploring diverse topics from politics to social issues. Some of her most notable works include “Diary of a Political Tourist,” “Friends of God,” “Homeless: Motel Kids of Orange County,” “Meet the Donors,” “San Francisco 2.0,” and “The Insurrectionist Next Door.” In addition to her documentaries, Pelosi is the author of two books: Sneaking into the Flying Circus: How the Media Turn Our Elections into a Freakshow and Citizen USA: A 50 State Roadtrip. She resides in Greenwich Village with her husband, Michiel Vos, a Dutch TV correspondent, and their two sons.
