Episode 21 Recovery and Performance

As our high school spring track and field season came to an end. We really noticed how we had to focus on recovery as we dwindled down the last few weeks into our state championship meet. Ending with an excellent season, placing 6th in both the 4x100m relay and open 200m. What did we focus the last two weeks on? RECOVERY. We have taught our athletes the importance of listening to their bodies and not running it into the ground knowing they need to peak at specific times.
Some modalities or trick of the trade include: epsom salt baths, ice baths, foam rollers of any kind, soft tissue massage, breathing technics, acupuncture, decrease training intensity, sleep, nutrition, hydration
